Classes to meet CRNA Admission Requirements

I found that the university of illinois offers an online a & p class. I am wondering if this would be reputatble and since i already took at basic a & p 204 would their online a & p KN 253 Human Anatomy and Physiology I be ok to take as my 2nd semester of a & p required by the school

I am looking to start applying to crna programs in the next 1-2 years as i have now been working in icu for about a year and a half. Going over the schools requirements for admission many have the requirement of chemisty in the last few years or one more chemisty class than I took in college...
Has anyone taken a chemistry class online when pursuing CRNA schools?? The University of Wiscosin online has a chemisty class online tought by the same teachers as in the uw colleges but the transcript would say it is online...... Wondering if that would be looked down upon?
I also need another anatomy and physiology class but am not able to find anything online... Any ideas?

The transcript will say chem I or whatever you end up taking. Should not matter if its online. I took online chem at Pikes Peak Community College and it worked just fine for anesthesia school.

I took a bunch of sciences before applying. It really stemmed from trying to get into organic chem or biochem. My college system here required a year of gen chem to get in and that's what I did. Then I took physics. I took my sciences in person for the support if the instructor and study groups. I have I otherwise taken a ton of online courses but I preferred in person sciences. You might want to contact a school you are interested about the a and p requirement. I have always seen a two semester a and p for entrance into nursing programs so it's odd that you have only one. Interesting !

I'll cross post this from a reply I just made in another subforum here.

First things first, I've been told by numerous programs that having taken courses in a real classroom looks way better than online. Sure, it's more convenient, but it's also usually more expensive.

I looked at taking A&P through University of Phoenix and it was over $2,000 with no lab portion. So I took a 3-credit course at a local community college WITH lab and it was only $600. Cheaper, looks better to CRNA schools, has a lab, why the heck would you not go that route?

With anatomy, check with the schools you want to apply to and see what their requirements are. Some want a 4 credit course with lab, and at that point, you have no option but to do it in the classroom. The school I got into was cool with me just taking that 3 credit A&P I course with lab as I had previously had a full A&P 4 credit course with lab.

I went to CRNA school in the early 80's so online courses didn't exist. It never occurred to me that courses with no labs should be acceptable since any OR is just one big lab. Now I know why some of the students I deal with are so weak. We just keep lowering and lowering the bar.
