Army Reserve CRNA

Specialties CRNA

I'm in CRNA school now and I have been tossing around the idea of signing up for Army Reserve.

I would love the chance to serve and learn in the Army but I'm just not crazy about the idea of committing myself full time.

Anyone out there have any experince with the Army Reserve as a CRNA?

Can I have the best of both worlds?

-Private Sector, great pay and freedom?

-Armed Forces, help with loans awesome experince?

What are the chances I get deployed for a significant amount of time?

What is the age limit on Army Reserve? I'm 42 and planning to enter CRNA school. Can I get into a school then join the reserve?

im sure you have contacted a medical army reserve recruiter. there is a poster by the name "olderthandirt2" i believe is in the army crna program or has just finished it, dont know if he is reserve or reg. army. private mail him for some info. good luck.

I'm currently Active duty rn in the Army CRNA program (USAGPAN) and female :)

If anyone has any questions about the program, let me know.

As far as reserve....I was reserve as a 66H8A (icu rn) then went active. From what I understand the Army Reserve component is 100% for their CRNA slots (meaning....they don't need anymore for this fiscal yr).

Where as the Active duty CRNA fill rate is ~ 50%

....big need for more CRNAs.

good luck,

So how does active duty v/s reserve status work?

I have a few questions. Seeing that this is an old thread hopefully you will see this

I've heard of a government program that is somewhat related to the military but the main focus is to have you work in America at places medically underserved for a few years and they pay back most if not all of your student loans. Has anyone else heard of this? I believe it's called HRSA.

are the vision requirements any less strict for crna?

Hey double d

I know this thread was 7 years ago but wondering if you're still in reserves ? I'm thinking of joining for CRNA . Is it worth it? Were you deployed often? If so- for how long at a time?
