Any advice for CCRN exam?

I am going to apply soon to take my CCRN. I have been a nurse in a step down telemetry unit for four years and have been in CCU for the last 6 months. I have ordered a few books for review. I have been thinking of ordering one of the crash review course with the tapes and workbooks. I have gone to the website at cert.org and read over the blueprints and tips sections.

Anyone have any advice as far as how to study or what to study? What about any books or guides that helped you more than others? One of the books I ordered online was used, so if anyone has anything that are interested in selling please let me know :D

TIA!

Good luck! i used a study book and practice test book by Ahearn, I think. I just set up a time table for each section of the book, and kept taking the practice tests until I was happy with my score...

thanks dawn! i got a book called pass ccrn and it has a lot of great study tips in the first chapter. i am working on these right now. i will check out the book you mentioned by ahearn. i think i have seen it before.

i appreciate your advice :)

Best of luck on the CCRN!! I just took it in May and used the Laura Gasparis tapes to study. I highly recommend them!!

I got a copy of the Laura Gaseris tapes and love them! As a matter of fact, many of the nurses who aren't even going to take the CCRN are listening to the tapes because they are so helpful. I wish that I had gotten them earlier!

Thanks for the help :) Jena:cool:

You can order Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio's CCRN tapes/DVD's directly from her website, http://www.greatnurses.com. I think you can also get them from amazon.com. I ordered her Critical Care Exam review book because the nurses in my unit who recently took the CCRN exam used that and passed! Good luck!
