I'm also waiting to hear back from VIU. I was told we wouldn't hear anything back until the end of April so we've still got a bit of a wait. I'm definitely feeling pretty uneasy because I haven't done any volunteer work in the medical field and I'm not sure how important that's going to be in the decision making process. Guess we'll see soon enough.

VIU only uses GPA in the four prerequisites for admissions and doesn't consider the applicants background, which is actually a little bit of a downside for me because I've done related volunteering and work. I'm a little concerned though because I was a bit late to apply to the program.

Oh interesting, I couldn't remember if there was a part in the application process at VIU to input volunteer work experience or not, thanks for clearing that up. Did you apply anywhere else? and do you feel confident in your grades?

I'm pretty confident in my grades because I have about a 93% average in the prerequisites. I am on a waitlist for Selkirk College but I am number eighty on the list and they only accept around 20 or so into the program each year. Selkirk does not have a competitive nursing program. I did not realize until recently that applying to a more competitive program would benifit me.

Have you applied to any other schools?

Well sounds like you have pretty good chances. I applied to Camosun/UVic and am currently wait-listed there. Best of luck to you!

I have applied to VIU and am still waiting for a response back. I also applied to Camosun/Uvic and am unfortunately on the waitlist as well since I currently live in Victoria and am wanting to stay here. I just recently got accepted into the TRU fall 2016 bachelor of nursing program though.

I think we should hear back from VIU soon, because I know acceptance were received on the 17th last year. I can't stand waiting, I really hope we find out this week.

Got my acceptance letter today, hopefully you guys get yours soon as well!!

No acceptance for me, but I am on the wait-list. There is a 26 person wait-list this year. I have no idea where I am on the list, but I think I have a competitive average so it may be closer to the beginning? Just curious, what is your average in the prerequisites?

My average is probably similar to yours - about 93% I'd guess. I was told without As/A+s there was a slim chance of getting in so I had done some upgrading.
