  1. I think I was waitlisted because I applied so late to the program. I hadn't considered going to the island for nursing at first, but only realized it was an option for me a week before applications were closing. Anyways, I'm just happy there's still a chance I could get in.
  2. No acceptance for me, but I am on the wait-list. There is a 26 person wait-list this year. I have no idea where I am on the list, but I think I have a competitive average so it may be closer to the beginning? Just curious, what is your average in the prerequisites?
  3. I think we should hear back from VIU soon, because I know acceptance were received on the 17th last year. I can't stand waiting, I really hope we find out this week.
  4. Have you applied to any other schools?
  5. I'm pretty confident in my grades because I have about a 93% average in the prerequisites. I am on a waitlist for Selkirk College but I am number eighty on the list and they only accept around 20 or so into the program each year. Selkirk does not have a competitive nursing program. I did not realize until recently that applying to a more competitive program would benifit me.
  6. VIU only uses GPA in the four prerequisites for admissions and doesn't consider the applicants background, which is actually a little bit of a downside for me because I've done related volunteering and work. I'm a little concerned though because I was a bit late to apply to the program.
  7. Leave an update of your application status and your experiences through the process! You can leave comments about other programs in British Columbia as well if you would like. Can't wait to see if I get in!
