I'm new to the site and I saw the thread for last years appilcants to UBC nursing so I thought I would start one for this year.

How is the application going for everyone, any tips from 2010 intake?

Iris, if you end up contacting them before I do, please let me know what they say!! I'll do the same!

Ok, for sure - I'll def let you know ASAP when I hear something from them!!! Ya, I emailed them earlier today but I got an automatic email saying that Ms. ******** is not going to be in on Friday (tomorrow)...so I'm guessing she'll reply back to me next week......I'll keep you guys posted!

Hey Iris (and all!)

No, I didn't end up hearing anything, and if what others posted on here is accurate and #9 did get in... Well, it definitely sucks knowing I was next to get in and it stopped at me (I was #10)! :( I think we're all pretty bummed knowing most people in previous years got off the wait list but not our year :(

That's a good idea to call in to check if the admissions are officially done and over with now. Let us know how it goes! :)

On the bright side, I can now finish my 4th year in September, and it'd be good to know if I should start making organizing my class schedules for September! :p

Well, even if all the offers have been sent out, since you are #1 on the waiting list right now, I think there still might be a chance you could get in........$100 deposit isn't that large of a deposit! There may be people who pay the deposit to keep their options open but drop the program by the start of September.....

Here's some hope for those of you waiting for a response:

I applied for the 2010/2011 intake and was initially rejected. Not even on the waiting list. Some of you may have heard during interviews that applicants were offered a spot on the last day before classes started. Yep, it's true. Friday before classes started, I received an e-mail that basically stated " Dear applicant. We have an opening. First to respond to this e-mail gets it."

Unfortunately, I was away on vacation and didn't see the e-mail until Saturday and of course, the spot had been filled by then.

But anyway, my point is: don't give up hope! An acceptance can come at anytime, even the last day before classes start.

See you guys in September!

To everyone on the waitlist in the welcome letter they just sent out it says that if people do not register by july 15 or at least pay their registration deposit that their seat will be given to someone else. Hope that helps!

And krasmussen, thanks for letting us know :)......so July 15th is the new magic number LOL! And the wait continues......

CONGRATZ, elle! :yeah: Yeaaaah, I just checked my email and I was notified that I'm #1 on the waitlist now haha.....there's still hope!! I think if I get an acceptance email, I'll definitely start crying tears of joy haha......this wait has definitely been quite a journey haha!
