Second Entry Nursing in Ontario fall 2013

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hey everyone,

I have applied for the fall 2013 nursing programs of my choice, and the wait has begun. I was hoping to start a thread where we can share our application process, when we get accepted, etc.

I applied to Humber's second entry program, as well as the 4 year (as a backup) and George Brown's 4 year RN program. REALLY putting all my eggs in the Humber basket.

I graduated from the university of Guelph in spring 2011 with a BA in psychology. My avg for the last 2 years was an 81%.

Anyone else care to share?

I've been accepted to U of T, Queen's AST program and Trent.

Vfbarrette, I never received an email from Queens when I was accepted, I just saw my OUAC account changed to accepted. So maybe try looking there? My average was around an 83 for Queens, so I'm sure you'll hear back soon.

Congratulations!!! Have you decided where to go yet?

Thank you so much for the information, I never would've thought to check the OUAC website. As I'm a current Queen's student I was just checking my internal Solus account but you never know. Still no news though so the waiting game continues. I really hope to find out soon! Let me know if you have any questions about Queen's or Kingston. I've been living, working and going to school here for over 10 years.

Hey there, I've been accepted to UofT (Apr 2nd), Queen's AST program (Mar 28th), and uOttawa Second Entry (early Feb).

I also noticed that Queen's is a bit late in updating their SOLUS system. I received my letter offer in the mail (dated Mar 28 and received Apr 2) days before my SOLUS status was changed to accepted. And I have not received any email communication from them either.

Best of luck to everyone!

Hey Everyone,

So I applied to Mac, Humber and Western for the second entry nursing programs and I was accepted to Mac already but I think I would like to go to Humber. I am getting anxious to hear back from them. I did apply late however. They only got my high school transcripts last week. I am in my 4th year in Human Kinetics at Guelph and my average is about an 84 so Im expected I shouldn't have a problem but now Im getting worried that I havent heard from them...

@rkbellamy Do you mind me asking why Humber is your first choice? (over mac)...im currently debating these two options myself so im just curious!

Hi, how is the Humber program?

Hi new to the forum. In 2nd year Health Science in Ottawa and now thinking of switching after I'm done my 2nd year. My question is realistically what is the comp average. Humber is asking for min 3.0 on their website but does anyone know Humber or York or any other school what really is the real average they are looking for?

Thank you so much in advance for your reply

how is the trent program?

Hey anybody knows what's the competive average for Trent compressed nursing? I have 79, not sure about my chances

hey have you heard anything from trent since you last posted? I have around there and I haven't gotten anything yet :(

Hey, posting a year after the last post, but did you hear anything?

I know that in 2013 80% was the average for most people getting admitted. I heard the program is getting harder to get in each year. Your best bet is to apply and hope for the best! Good luck! Nursing school in general is very frustrating coursework wise, but the clinical experience is where you learn almost everything anyways.
