  1. Hey, does anyone know what the uniform restrictions are for our clinical placements (colour, style, shoes, etc)?
  2. Thanks sangs19! I wonder if others will have the same problem we did, esp if the links are removed again...
  3. I can't find this group page either from a regular search (I even copied and pasted to make sure I wasn't misspelling). However, the link has since been removed ... All I can find is a Class of 2014 page which is closed.
  4. Yes, you have to submit the $500 non-refundable deposit by the offer deadline (which you accept via the OUAC site). However, you submit your certified cheque or money order directly to the University of Toronto (Student Accounts, I believe). I just sent mine in the mail this morning (xpresspost, just in case!). I assume you could revoke your acceptance on OUAC later on, but given the tight deadlines to submit your deposit by the same date, you'd likely be out the $500.
  5. I also accepted the offer from UofT. See you there!
  6. Thanks! Wow, that's a huge class compared to the 24 English speaking students accepted to uOttawa. But it makes sense considering UofT only offers the compressed BScN program.
  7. Congrats, learningmom!!! Does the collaborative program start in the summer or fall?
  8. Hey there, I've been accepted to UofT (Apr 2nd), Queen's AST program (Mar 28th), and uOttawa Second Entry (early Feb). I also noticed that Queen's is a bit late in updating their SOLUS system. I received my letter offer in the mail (dated Mar 28 and received Apr 2) days before my SOLUS status was changed to accepted. And I have not received any email communication from them either. Best of luck to everyone!
  9. Does anyone know how many students are accepted to UofT for fall 2013 entry?
  10. Hi there, I was accepted to uOttawa Second Entry program in early Feb (for a May 2013 start). However, I've since been accepted to UofT and Queen's for fall 2013 and think I would prefer to accept the offer from UofT. Unfortunately, due to the difference in start times for these programs, I have a feeling that I won't be the only applicant in this position!
  11. I applied to UofT, Queen's, uOttawa, York, and UWO. I received an offer from uOttawa in early Feb (program starts summer 2013) and accepted because I knew there would be little hope of another offer before my mid-Feb deadline. I have since been accepted to Queen's on March 28th and to UofT on April 2nd! Even though the UofT program starts and ends later, I think UofT is my first choice! Just waiting on my letter offer in the mail before accepting online... Good luck to everyone waiting for acceptances :)
  12. Oh, and I'm not too sure what my GPA would be since I have a BA Honours, with a minor in Biology (started as a BIOL major), as well as an MA. I've also since taken a few prerequisites from other universities, so it's a bit difficult to calculate! I've gotten an A+ in statistics, A+ in anatomy/physiology, and A- to A+ in other pre-reqs. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!
  13. Hey there, I received my acceptance to UofT via email on April 2nd! It's also posted on my Join UofT account; however, I am still waiting on my letter offer in the mail. Not sure yet when my acceptance deadline is, but I think UofT will be my first choice. I was also accepted to the AST nursing program at Queen's and the Second Entry nursing program at uOttawa. The University of Ottawa program starts (and finishes) sooner, but I think the program and the clinical experiences offered in Toronto will make me a stronger nurse. I've tried (unsuccessfully) to find a ranking of Canadian nursing schools, but UofT is ranked higher than both Queens and uOttawa in the Medical school ratings by Macleans. I guess that should be a decent indicator of training for the health professions in general...
  14. The CASN list (link above) is missing the University of Ottawa Second Entry Nursing program, which is under 2 years - a spring/summer term catching you up on second year requirements, followed by 3rd and 4th year (with no summer session in between, from what I understand). However, their program starts in May (with a deadline of Dec), unlike most Sept start programs, so the deadline has passed for a 2013 start date.
