Hello. I am looking for any students enrolled in the RPN to BSCN program with McMaster. I would love to hear from you no matter what site you are at. (Conestoga, Mohawk, Six Nations) Would just like to know some more about the program and the course load. If there are any online classes or all in class? Currently I am waitlisted for all three sites but will likely end up at CO/MAC. All your help is appreciated!

I am currently finishing up my final 2 semesters in the CoMac bridging program, I will be done in December. I have really enjoyed it, it's been busy but I do feel like I have learned a lot. I don't find it to be a lot of in class time, but I've taken most of my electives online. Definitely a decent amount of work though if you want to work and do well.

Thanks for replying! Does the program run from Sept - April? How have your placements been so far? I am pretty curious to know what the class sizes are like as well.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the admission requirement for the program? And is it a three year full time program?

Usually minimum 82-85% average in RPN program. I'm not sure if anything has been changed since I applied.

3-years full-time, 6 semesters.

Oh, OP you must have just finished Mohawk as well? ;) I decided to wait a year to bridge because by the end of 3rd semester my brain had already turned to jelly, but now I'm feeling restless sitting around lol, I should have applied!!

@xokw, do you have to complete the program in 3 years, or do you have extra time (eg. if you're working and can't handle the full course load)

and can previous university courses count towards your credits?

There's no part-time option, unfortunately. However your credits are good for a few years and from the time you start the program you have up to 6 (I think) years to graduate. That means if you need to take time off due to personal issues or whatever reason, you can re enroll later. A girl in one of my classes this year was back after taking two years off due to having a child.

If you have previous university credits (no college), you can submit a transcript and possibly get exempt from electives. You do have to do quite a few electives throughout the program, so if you can get exempt from any it is beneficial and helps with workload. I loaded up on electives during first year and summer break last year, it got them out of the way and it totally made my life easier this year.

Hey folks! Just an update, I got into CoMac for September this year! Couldn't be more excited!! :)

Congrats! I'm in my third (and final) year of the bridging program. Let me know if you have any questions :)

Hi! I'll be starting at the CoMac location in Sept 2016 also! Did you enroll in your courses yet?

@xokw - Thanks for the all info you've provided! How would you submit your transcript to get transfer credits? I would prefer to decrease the amount of electives I need to do haha.
