Hello everyone,I wanted to start this forum because I'm getting nervouse about my application to the BSN program at Bcit. I appled for this August (2012) and I am still awaiting a reply. Has anyone else applied? I would love to hear about your application so I have something to compare myself against and could know ways to improve. Please let me know:)Cheers!

I'm just soo impatient and worried, my GPA isn't that great either but I'm receiving my BSc in Psychology from UBCO in June, so thats a complete degree. I also took anatomy and physiology last year and I have my volunteering as a Candy Striper from awhile back.

And thanks I'm trying hard to hang in there lol constantly signing on to "mybcit"

I'm still waiting as well. I was just about to call BCIT too. Did they give you an idea of when we would hear something?

I called and the admissions woman said that just to be patient, if our status is "pending department review" then it means that the Nursing department is still reviewing applications. She didn't sound very happy after I said that I was waiting for Nursing, I think they may have been getting A LOT of calls.

I even said that it's basically the deadline, and she said that they're likely very behind and that its in the Nursing Departments hands now and that it would be hard to get any actual concrete info, so not very helpful.

I just hope that it means we will hear good news soon!

Hey there. This is to anyone who has been shortlisted before.

It says that we are to submit the reference forms to BCIT.

Usually references are confidential but is says on the bottom of both the volunteer& Employee ref that "employeer OR applicant" to submit to nursing dept.

My refs have given the refs direct to me and I plan on submitting it all together in a package.

Does this mean that I can see my own references?

If it helps your conscience. I read mine. If they didn't want us to read them, then they probably would've did what UBC does. Which is get the person to seal the envelope and sign the flap.

Also, the contact info is also on the bottom so if they smell something fishy they can contact the person directly

Is there anybody out there who is still waiting to hear if they have been shortlisted/rejected? My application STILL says pending department review and it is KILLING ME!
