CRNE ending, NCLEX beginning

World Canada CRNE

Published

Hi,

I'm just going into a fast-track RN program this Fall 2013. So I will be writing the NCLEX-RN exam in 2015. For those of you who are in Nursing school now - what is the main difference between the CRNE and the NCLEX? What are your schools/professors saying about the new exam?

Thank you for bringing up this discussion. I recently graduated in Ontario, wrote the CRNE exam in June and failed by few points. I would be interested to know if I could write the NCLEX in US. To my understanding in US, the NCLEX can be written up to six times, where in Ontario only three times...makes no sense to me. Does anyone know in which States in US can I try to write the NCLEX? Thank you.

From your post, it sounds like you have only failed the CRNE once. Did you attempt the October exam?

If you are interested in the NCLEX, Why not wait until it comes to Canada in several months? You already have the Canadian education requirements. You still have attempts available.

Hi!.Do you have any update for the coming nclex type exam?..Read all messages here, but still unsure? Can't focus on my review,I am really confused about my review materials,if still helpful to study the CRNE prepguide or focus to NCLex-Us type of questions? TIA

god bless

@fishbutterfly CRNE study guides are not designed to help prepare you for the NCLEX, use NCLEX review material.

Here are links to the NCLEX-RN test plan to get you started: https://www.ncsbn.org/1287.htm

This has a link to the Canadian transitional NCLEX bulletin: https://www.ncsbn.org/1213.htm

It seems NCLEX-RN resources are more suitable.
