White Memorial- RN New Grad 2013

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone! Who else has applied and does anyone know by when will they start to contact us for interviews? This would be my last chance to get into a new grad program, otherwise I would have to wait til the summer. So please feel free to post anything and everything here! Good luck to everyone!!

congrats anabanana! It was mostly behavioral questions and I had 4 people when I interviewed. Make sure to have some examples from your past experiences and I had one scenario question. Just take a deep breath and also just focus on the lab values and the vital signs when you answer the scenario coz that helped me answer it. good luck!

Thank you so much!!! I'll definitely have to take notes during the clinical scenario.

Do any of you remember the names of all the people from the panel? I had 4 people on the panel but only remember 3 of their names. please help

I had three people and I didn't remember their names either so I called the HR office. I sent thank cards to all of them after my interview. Good luck to you!

Specializes in ICU.

i had 4 people interview me and i only had one interviewer out of the people you listed. i think different people interview on certain days.

Well in that case, it doesn't hurt to call and ask for their names.

Hey rn242!

How did you 2nd interview go?

I'm so anxious if I got the position or not. It's only been 6 days and it was thanksgiving weekend so i'm trying to stop myself from calling HR and atleast wait it til this week. :nailbiting:

hi I got a call back too! I am pretty nervous for the interview tho. It seems intense. The recruiter told me that the interviews would be 1 hour long plus the medication exam. Did you get any other details?

Thanks I appreciate your help!

hi nglaurenRN,

I actually have my interview this week the 28th! I nervous about the exam! what kind of conversions were there? where there drams, grains, fl oz, etc? or just the basic stuff like mls, mg, L, kg, etc? Any advice will be appreciated!

i am sure your interview went well! according to previous cohorts, most manager interviews go well! i really hope the trend repeats this year. i am assuming you will hear back once all the interviews are done? or did they let you know when you would hear back?

rn242--

Ahh thanks! I have my fingers crossed that the trend will repeat this year also! I'm still getting ready for the bad news, just in case! hahaha

The 2nd interview was more relaxed and the managers I interviewed with were really nice so I'm sure you will do great on your 2nd interview. My recruiter just said she'll keep in touch with me after the holidays (I just hope it was thanksgiving and not xmas holiday lol)

For the medication quiz, don't sweat it! it was a piece of cake. hahah I actually reviewed my drams, grains, etc. but it's really basic!

What unit are you going for? good luck!

Thanks! I am interviewing for the medical-surgical units!

From what I have read on previous cohorts some found out early december others late decemeber! So i am not sure around when we will find out. If they give me more infor on wednesday I will let you know!

ahh okay so they will have those conversions? I am nervous. I would love to land a job at white memorial !

and did they ask you critical thinking questions like in our panel interview or just common situational questions? :nailbiting:

I hope I find out about mine this week and yes, please let me know other information that they will tell you. lol I really want to get this position too! :) So are you interviewing for 2 units or just medsurg?

It's not really conversions, more of -- dose/have. If there's any conversion it's mostly L--> mL or however you want to convert it to get the answer. As far as the interview, it's different from the panel. It's more of a conversation -- tell me about yourself type thing and then you go from there. They didn't ask me any scenarios.
