Hey guys! Figured I'd start a new thread for the VA San Francisco new grad program that's coming up. Hopefully we can all share insight and information about the process as it goes along. Anyone else apply?

Specializes in Medical-Oncology.

I interviewed on 12/27. They said they will be making decisions (phone call or email) by the first week of January. I haven't heard anything as of today. Trying to stay hopeful!!

I interviewed that day too. This waiting game is killing me!! Hopefully we'll hear good news from them soon.

I know...I'm trying not to think about it too much, but its always in the back of my mind. I felt like the interview went well, but you never know what they're really looking for. How did yours go?

Do anybody know, how many people received an interview?

Seriously I'm trying not to think about it but it's so hard haha. I think the interview went well but you're right, you never know what they are looking for. And what if everyone else did just as well. HIRE US ALL PLEASE!! I've been checking my phone and email like every 10 minutes haha. Driving me insane!

I know what you mean! I wanted to yell "Pick me! Pick me!" :)They told me they had approx 400 apps (way less than previous programs) and were interviewing 47 people.

Nearly a month since my interview....still nothing. Anyone else hear anything?

Hey! I'm new to allnurses so I'm not allowed to private message you :bored::grumpy: I didn't want to leave you hanging though haha. If you wanna shoot me your email via private message so I can send you an email! I mean if you feel comfortable. I'm not a creeper, just so you know hahaha ;) It's cool if you don't wanna :(

Haven't heard anything either. I figured I didn't get the position since they told us to expect to hear from them the first week of January. Wish more people that interviewed would comment so I'd know for sure  Or at least send a rejection email already!

hi everyone, I just joined up after finding this topic. I'm in the same boat, waiting on some answer so I can move forward and stop clinging onto the last bit of hope i have invested in the VA...

Hi everyone that got an interview or position, would you mind sharing some of your educational background (GPA, experience, CA resident?, what unit you precepted on, etc...) Thank you!

GPA: 3.5

Cum Laude

No nursing experience

CA resident

I precepted at a VA outpatient clinic, which is probably a big reason why I was selected to interview.
