University of San Francisco ME-CNL Summer 2013

Hey everybody,

I didn't see a thread yet for the Summer 2013 cohort for USF Masters Clinical Nurse Leader Program so I decided to make one. The application deadline is coming up and figured it would be great to meet fellow applicants and stress out together haha

You're welcome, Megan5656. So you interviewed at UCSF too. I'm sorry for your disappointment; that was a tough blow. I'm sure we'll both find the right place, though.

Given JS88's post, I guess the phone call/letter thing is not a hard-and-fast rule. Congrats JS88!

@ JS88 - Thanks for the update! I was hoping they'd be in the mail soon. Even though I received the call, I feel like it won't really sink in until I have the letter in my hand!!! lol :) Since you have the packet already, does it mention anything about needing to be on campus prior to the 21st? (For an orientation, meet and greet or something like that). Also, did it come with financial aid info?

To everyone - I'm super excited to meet all of you in our cohort and hope more of you from our forum will be getting a happy phone call soon!!!

The letter is pretty small, it basically just says congratulations and that everything else is online for you to view (I'm assuming to save paper). We won't be able to pay to reserve our fees until a few more days. But yes, there's an all day orientation on May 15 (then a week later, school starts!!!). I'll just give you the website since you'll be receiving it soon anyway! University of San Francisco (USF) - Orientation

It basically contains everything you will need to know/get done soon. Just a warning... it's a bit overwhelming at first glimpse after clicking through everything... :wideyed:

Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday!

Looking over the great teamwork you guys have, I really do hope I get into Cohort 16! So diverse in different areas, and if you combine all of that, you can get great experience and knowledge in so many levels!

Now where's my phone call :(!

I'm not sure if anyone would be interested or how many more accepted people will check the allnurses forums, but I was thinking about starting a facebook group for our cohort. Let me know if anyone else would be interested!

Also, I hope the rest of you still waiting to hear back get some good news soon!

My friends who are in the last cohort did a facebook group for Cohort 15. It would definitely help a lot to start getting help and grouping up now before the fiasco's begin I'd say.

And they told me semester 1 is the hardest semester because it jumbles up all of the important you need to know as a Nurse in one semester and can be time consuming too :(!

Thanks for the tip @bboykenshin!

I guess I'll create a group. If you have a facebook, you could personal message me on here with your email or name (however you want me to find you on facebook) if you don't want it displayed on here for the public to see.

Okay, I didn't realize that you couldn't send personal messages on here unless you've posted X amount of posts. So for those of you who can't do that either, I created a temporary email that you can reach me at for the facebook group. [email protected]

Or you can try finding it directly on FB.... not sure if it'll show up yet since the group size is so small at the moment. Search for "USF CNL Cohort 16"

Hey guys, I haven't received the admissions packet in the mail yet but I did receive an email telling me to check my admission decision online (via the website that we applied with). It had the link to the orientation & it also told me to fill out an online form saying that I want to accept my offer.

Check your emails! Good luck :)

Congratulation to USF Cohort 16 - CNLs!! You guys are truly amazing. I'm still waiting and keeping my fingers crossed. The end of the month sounds like it is ages away. My current school overlaps with USF's start date and I would have to make last minute arrangements if I got accepted. I'm sure the instructors will be accommodating, but I wish I could give them as much time as possible.

Any tips on how to not go crazy while waiting for a aye or a nay?

Again, congrats C16 and it is my greatest wish to have the opportunity to join you as I know that I would learn so much from you as well as the program.

@ JS88 - So glad you brought up the FB group! I was going to suggest the same thing. :) I'll shoot you an email now.

Quick question Consssss. Who did your e-mail come from so I know who to look forward to when receiving an e-mail?

Sorry about all the questions folks! I really do appreciate everyone in answering our 829374892374298374 questions!
