Universities/Hospitals in San Fran Area

U.S.A. California

Published

Hey All-

I'm graduating (assoc) in January. My sister lives in San Fran and I would love to move to Cali. for a few years, work, get my BSN, Masters etc... However I don't know anything about the hospitals in the area. Can anyone give some info on noteworthy hospitals in that area. Living in NYC and knowing the hospitals here.. well, let's just say there's no way I'd work at some of the hospitals where I did clinical rotations.

Thanks in advance!

Sadstudent,

I work in San Francisco. PM me and I'll give you information on my hospital and a few others I've heard about. BTW, what area of nursing are you interested in?

I'm very sorry, but I have no idea what PM means. Basically, med/surg to start and then ER. My future interests are 1. disaster relief and

2. preventative health.

Sorry, PM means private message.

I'm also interested in learning about hospitals in the Bay Area. I've heard John Muir has a competitive package and training program for new grads. Any help would be appreciated!!

Does anyone have any information on Alameda Hospital & the area? My specialty is the operating room.

hi! i'm a nurse from the UK, and i've just passed the NCLEX. i am now looking for a jobin the US, preferably around SF area, as my boyfriend lives in Fairfield,CA. do you know any hospitals within that area that would be interested in recruiting international nurses, especially the ones that offer sign-in bonus? also, have you got any idea how much salary they offer? by the way, i am an operating room nurse and i have almost 10yrs. experience.

i would be greatful if you could please send me a reply.

Experienced OR nurses are in high demand in the SF Bay area. There are around 40 hospitals to choose from. Expect a minimum of 65K yearly. Have your boyfriend locate the nearest hospitals and start there. Were you an RN during your 10 years of OR experience?

I'd say expect closer to 75K yearly or higher for that much experience! Go for it.
