UCSD Perinatal Nurse Training Program

U.S.A. California

Published

I just received an email that I have an interview scheduled for 6/1.

Did anyone else apply? Has anyone interviewed or been selected?

The job posting didn't mention how many they were seeking or when they want to start the program so I'm pretty lost on the details. It sounds like an amazing opportunity though.

Hi liznowen,

I also received an email for an interview on 6/1. Do you know if it is panel interview and how many positions they have open? Do you know what type of questions they might ask, probably some clinical too? What time is your interview?

My interview is at 4 pm. I don't know much, the email was very short.

Did you have an internship or preceptorship in L&D or NICU? Did you go to nursing school in San Diego?

I know San Diego hospitals prefer San Diego nursing school students but I didn't stay there after high school.

I have an interview at 8am. Maybe, I'll be the first one ....

I did my preceptorship in the NICU and I knew since the beginning that is the area I want to do. I did not go to school in San Diego area, I finished my nursing degree in Bay area. Where did you go to school? And did you have preceptorship in the NICU or L&D? Did you take any extra certifications in this area?

I'm in an entry level masters program in the LA area. I had a preceptorship in L&D. I have certifications in ACLS PALS and NRP.

Hi, I also received an email for an interview, im from the bay area. I have almost forgot the details about this training program. do you know how long is the program?

My interview is on the 31st at 3pm. I was given a choice of phone interview too. I am confused about whether I should go there in person or just schedule phone interview :/

Gluck to you guys =)

Hi Everyone,

THis is the info that was listed on our job application about the program. I think it is a 2 year program, with 6 months of training in each unit, and then they want you to give them time after the program. I too have an interview on 6/1 at 1500.

Good luck to all of us.

Hi swek,

I am from Bay area too. I booked tickets to fly to SD for an interview on Friday (it was not cheap but I prefer in person interview). I did on phone interview with other hospital and did not have a good feeling about it. But that is my preference.

Good luck

Hey everyone, I also have an interview at 1100 on 5/31. I have a BSN from CSU Long Beach and did a preceptorship in L&D, also have NRP and ACLS and did the Maternal/Newborn course through RPS for San Diego. I thought I remembered seeing that 5 positions were available for this unit on the application. Also, I've heard from other applicants in other units that they like to do clinical scenario questions, but not sure about the perinatal panel. Also, there will be about 5 people on the panel for my interview. Hope this info helps, good luck!

Thanks for the info NurseMandoCommando. Do you know how many people they are interviewing?

I'm not sure, by the looks of it on here there are at least five of us and it seems like they're doing interviews all day this Thurs and Friday, my guess is at least 10. Last fall, I interviewed for Sharp Mary Birch and they interviewed 16 people for 5 open positions.
