Samuel Merritt ABSN Fall 2012

U.S.A. California

Hi everyone,

I haven't seen any postings for this cohort, and am just wondering if anybody has heard anything, etc. I applied for the San Francisco campus, which is now combined with San Mateo (bums me out!). I think we should find out if we're accepted sometime this month!

Hi Jennajo,

I spoke with one of the counselors that makes the decisions and she stated that each file will be completed by the end of May and she said that decisions should be called out hopefully by early June but no later than early July. Hopefully sooner than later. Just gotta your fingers and toes crossed till then =)

I applied for the same cohort and campus. I'm bummed about San Mateo and San Fran being combined as well, but it is still an excellent program with great clinicals. I also applied to Mount St. Mary's and Loma Linda. Have you applied elsewhere?

Hi guys.. I wanted to submit my application to SMU since date is extended. I am not sure how strong candidate I am. I have my prerequisites done with mostly As. I undergrad in bio. However I took teas once and scored 80 percent. I was in absn program in another college but I had to leave after 2 months due to spouse job relocatioHari SF. I am trying to figure out if I should apply for January cohort, or should I submit application for November. I have my recommendation letters, transcripts, just have to write statements. Can I reapply to january if not accepted in November?. I feel like i want start asap as I already lerned lot of skills like iv pumps, catheter insert etc. i have all As in ana, micro, phys, pharm. i am going to take online class for patho in summer with univrsity of phoenix that starts every monday. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sound like you have a great GPA as well as experience! If I were you I would just apply. The worst thing that can happen is that you don't get in and need to spend 6 or more months making yourself a stronger candidate. This can only improve your chances of getting in the next time! I have always been under the impression that reapplying to the same campus or applying to a different campus is fine. You might want to double check with SMU admissions on that one though. Best of luck to you!

Anybody else nervous!?!? I think we get the decision within the next 30 days or so. Hopefully sooner than later though.

Specializes in SNF.

Yep, I keep checking AN for news from other students. I started patho and pharm online so it's keeping me busy. You're not the only one!

your file is now complete and will be forwarded for the final decisions expected by the end of july.

If you guys didn't see this email yet, I just received this today...

_______________

Thank you for your application to the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt University for fall 2012. Applications are under final review and we expect to have decisions available by the end of this month, maybe sooner. Please watch your email as that is the primary method of communication for acceptance, waitlist and denial notification.

We are getting some communication from applicants about adding spring or summer grades to their existing applications. That is not possible at this time. We need to made decisions with grades that were available to us at the time of application. It is not possible to continually be adding more grades, or we would never finish with the process.

Please note that the fall cohort is a late fall start, beginning November 5th.

I know we can never get decisions out soon enough because you are anxious and excited and eager and stressed. I understand all of that. Please know that it is a process for us, involving not only Admission Counselors, but also School of Nursing faculty. Soon … I promise!

Just checked my email and didn't get this message:( Perhaps they are awaiting your final decision and adhering a stamp on my denial envelope? I'll keep my eyes out and keep AN updated if I get any further information.
