Pasadena City College RN program

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi,

I've heard that it's not recommended to work while enrolled as a student in an RN program. I'm applying for the Spring Semester at PCC and while I do intend to leave my current employer should I be accepted, I was wondering if there were people who made the attempt to work part-time or possibly in the summer.

Any opinions?

Thanks!

Congrats! Approximately what time did it arrive? What are your stats in the 4 prerequisites?

hi, i got the email at around 4:25 pm today.

here are my stats.....

Anatomy - A

physio - A

micro - B

chem - A

English - A

hopefully you will get in to!!!!!!!! :)

but i will be making my decisions to what school i want to attend because i also got accepted somewhere else for fall 2011

Thanks for replying, and congratulations! Where else did you get in? Did the email give you a deadline to reply by? Is there anything else in it, like orientation dates? I hope I get in as well, but my grades are not a good as yours. I have A's in Anat/Physio, and B's in Micro, English, and Chem. My first choice is County USC, but Pasadena is my second choice, provided that I actually get accepted. I hope I get my email soon. =)

Congrats to you! Did you have all A's in your prerequisites?

I got accepted into PCC as well but I'm not accepting it so... one more seat for you guys. And good luck everyone!

English: A

Anatomy: A

Physiology: A

Micro: A

Math: A

TEAS: 87%

Hope you'll get in too!

Fantastic grades, great job! Did they ask you about your TEAS score? I only got an 84% on version V and 86.5% on version IV. How does it work for PCC, do you have to be accepted before they look at your TEAS score or?

Hey guys I am applying this Sept.

Anyone get in with one B? I have an A in anatomy and chemistry and a B in English. I am making micro and physio right now. I believe I can get As in them as well.

Anyone know pcc RN graduates who got jobs after graduation. Thats my biggest worry.

I got my rejection email at 2:52pm today. Waiting to hear from County/USC and Moorpark.

oh no i am so sorry, i hope you get into your backup school

whats your stats? so i guess the least to get in is one B, if that.

Is PCC one of the schools that are easier to get into at spring rather than fall?

thats what i have heard

English 101 B

English 102 A

English 204 A (Wish they counted 102 and 204 instead of 101) =)

Microbiology B

Anatomy A

Physiology A

Overall GPA 3.0

Science GPA 3.6

TEAS V 84%

TEAS IV 86.5%

I'm not sure whether PCC is easier during the Spring or not, but County/USC is actually my first choice, and PCC was one of my backups. The rejection letter, which I am sure is a form letter, says that there is "nothing wrong with your application, but some of the applicants in the 600+ pool of applicants were more competitive." I am absolutely fine with that, at least the people who did get in deserve to, because they have the best stats. Congrats to all of those who got in!

I am only applying to PCC and RCC this fall for spring 2012 and CSULA for fall 2012

And Jan 2012 I am applying to CSULB, and CSUSB along with Chaffey and Citrus (I currently attend) for fall 2012 too.

I just hope the "ADN nurses can't get a job in socal" rumor is true. Or by the time I graduate there will be plenty of jobs.

Does anyone know how many students PCC takes every term?

Also how many people do you think they select for alternates?

Asking because I got the email about being an alternate and wanna see if theres a realistic chance for me to get accepted.

Thanks
