NEW GRAD Having a hard time getting finding a job.

U.S.A. California

Hello Everybody I live in Northern CA, and am having a hard time landing a job. Anyone know of opportunities in this area. I've been applying to these new grad programs but it more than 500 applications are applying for 5-10 positions.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. I really don't want to go to a SNF.

Sorry to be ignorant, new grads positions are always hard to find and RN with experience will have a little bit easier to find a job by a little bit..............but why are there so many listing for jobs (with experience)?

Market for new grads will be difficult regardless and listings for new grads are really hard to find. however, I see much more listings that pop up all the time for those in certain specialties WITH experience. Most hire internally anyways....... than why even post up the job listing to public?

Also, sometimes I see a old listing expire (after choosing few people for the job from hundreds of applicants), and then later on, a similar listing from that same clinic/hospital/medical office post up another one! ........... why?

I see have new listings up every month, but simply because there far too many people than open positions, it makes it harder to get one. But I'm curious to see more and more listings up after the old positions are filled, where are these new positions coming from?! Can't be high turnover rate?!

Sorry for the stupid questions but I'm just curious to see why there are so many so called job listings when the job market is so difficult in CA right now.

Thank you for your time!

Posted listings are not always consistent with what is really available. Often listings are made because of the legal requirements to make an opening "available" to the public, when in fact, the position is already going to someone in the subterranean clique. You can't prove it, and the employers won't admit it. There are also other reasons to post "ghost" openings. All one can do is to apply and hope.

Correct. They are also posted because they do not intend to hire anyone into the position currently, but do not want to "lose" the option to fill it in the future if needs on the unit arise.

Positions must be posted to the public legally. With internal hires and transfers a position can be secured and then a post will go up.

Edit: previous posts answer it better
