Napa ADN Fall 2012

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello Everyone!

I am planning on attending the ADN program at Napa Valley College in August and I was wondering if anyone else out here is doing the same thing.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks and I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Hi RDRPR! I think I was number 8 on the list.

Hi All,

I will be joining you all in the Napa ADN program this fall. I really excited, nervous, anxious... you name it I'm feeling it! I'm really glad I came accross this thread. Any of you live in Santa Rosa?

I've been waiting for a long time to start a program. I'm nervous that I have lost a lot of my anatomy and physio. Anyone feel the same?

Hi Kimber!

I think everyone on here can understand how you feel. I am nervous and excited at the same time. How are you doing with all of your required paperwork? How far of a commute is Santa Rosa? I am in American Canyon, so it isn't too far.

Hi Minty,

I've completed my physical and I just have my 2nd Hep B shot on Monday then my immunizations will be complete. I already have my CPR certification and flu shot. I haven't completed the drug screening yet. Hopefully, there will be a location in Santa Rosa.

Santa Rosa is about 45 min - 1 hour from Napa. I'm hoping there is another student from Santa Rosa that I can commute with.

Good for you. I did my screening at Napa. I submitted my paperwork this week just in case I have anything missing or if I have to redo any of them.

An hour commute...wow! I hope there will be others in the class near your area, so you can carpool.

I'm praying to find someone to carpool with. It would make it a whole lot easier. God will always open a door! :-)

Yes, indeed. Very well said. I know from previous classes, there was someone who lived at Sacramento and she commuted at least an hour and a half to Napa.

Hello All,

Sorry to interrupt your thread. I just got a rejection email from SRJC's nursing program. I'm so bummed out, but trying to feel hopeful for the future. I am planning on applying next year to College of Marin, Mendocino and Napa. I was wondering how long you guys were on Napa's wait list. I know they say about 2 years, but I've heard some say it's longer and some say shorter.

Thanks!

Hi Paigeeadams,

Sorry to hear you didn't get in at SRJC. Keep trying! I was placed on the waiting list at Napa in September 2009 I believe. They use to enroll Fall and Spring... now they are only enrolling Fall, so it might take longer. After you attend the orientation do everything you can to submit your application the very first day they accept them. I was at the school at 3am and I wasn't the only one.

As for SRJC, keep applying every year. You never know. Keep positive, it will happen when the time is right. Waiting sucks, but there is a reason for everything.

Hi guys! So the Healthstream modules are not to be turned in with the packet by Aug 7th? I'm going to get my 2nd MMR shot and CPR taken cared of next week. Maybe I'll see some of you guys on the 29th in the BLS class?

@RDRPR- I think I was number 43 on the list.

@Kimber- I'm nervous as well! I feel like I've forgotten a lot of things since it's been a couple years since I took the prereqs, but hopefully we'll all do fine! Looks like I'm going to be making Starbucks my second home again. For some reason, I study better in there lol.

@CaliGirl- Sorry to hear you didn't get in but don't give up and try again! I waited 2 1/2 years in Napa and finally got accepted this Fall.

Hey guys,

I'm glad our little thread is growing; still, hoping to find some students who are already in the Napa ADN program or graduated.

As with my packet, I will be done with my CPR this saturday and I am all done. Hopefully I don't have to redo anything.

I waited 3 years to get into the program, but honestly, I didn't even feel it, I feel like it was just a few months back when I was number 598 or something lol. Time flies by fast, do apply to multiple schools and always have a backup plan - next thing you know you're already getting your acceptance letter! :D

xsinshine - No, I believe not- the healthsteam is due on 8/24 but do check the reminder in case they change. I check it every now and then, hoping to see our class' Handbook. BTW, can you guys let me know if you get your registrations in the mail, b/c in the past, I've had some missing mails and this one's just too important to miss. I'm so excited already! It's almost August! See you all soon! :D

I thought I replied to this already, but I don't see it on this thread, so here it goes again. :-)

I submitted my packet 2wks ago and I also has a question about the healthstream and it isn't due with the packet. Our instructor will let us know more about it the first/second week of class.

Registrations will be done for us on June 28th or after. I would check next week on the 28th for the registrations.
