LA Harbor College Spring 2015 ADN Applicants

Hello All,

I thought I'd start this thread for those of us applying for the RN (ADN) program at LA Harbor College for the Spring 2015 cohort, application deadline is 9/5/14! Personally LAHC is my first choice because its closest to where I live. Have any of you already taken the TEAS? I encourage you all to share your questions/comments/concerns for open discussion. I'm hoping this thread helps us all get through the agonizing wait until we hear about the lottery results to come. This is my first time applying, best of luck to all of you!!!

I received an email last week stating I was accepted. Make sure you check your LACCD email address given to you by the school. Tomorrow is the last day to accept/decline the offer.

I called already and they said letters hVe not been sent yet. Are you talking about La harbor college.

Oh ok i was just making sure because i was concerned for myself and i called and thats what they said. I was accepted to lasc im just going to accept there because the last day is today and i dont want to ruin the one chance i actually have. Congrats to you.

Thanks! But I actually declined the offer because I got into a school closer to where I live so I'm going there instead. Congrats to you too for getting accepted to LASC!

Yes I got the email from LAHC on November 25. I replied to the email to confirm that I accept the invitation and they answered me back that they will see me at the orientation in january 7.Anybody else recieved the invitation?

Hi are you sure you declined the offer? Reason I'm asking is b/c I didn't receive an acceptance letter and when I talked to the office I figured out that it means they sent out 50 letters (which is the most they can accept) so every person that turns it down opens a spot for someone else, but when I asked the guy that does all the application stuff how many people had turned it down so far and he said no one had turned it down. Just asking because I'm just prying for a chance to get in.

This doesnt make any sense they say its a lottery and everyone will be notified of their decision all at the same time, yet there are some peope who have received letters and some have not then the people who are answering the phone are lying saying no notifications have gone out and they dont have a decision deadline yet. This sounds very suspicous because the school is not being honest. So i guess no news means you didnt get in.

Yes cmb1319. They are lying. I went in to the office today and this is what I found out. They invited 60 people to take the TEAS 45 passed they also have another 35 that had already taken the TEAs, so 80 people got put into the lottery on Nov 24 they did the lottery ( (however it is that they do it) they got 50 names and sent out 50 invites. The reason they are not sending us rejection letters yet is because they are waiting to see if everyone excepts. For every person that turns it down they pick another out of the 30 that didn't orinally get picked. In other words we are being kept on the back burner.

Oh wow why lie. Thats crazy. Good thing i actually have another option that right there is too much to deal. Thx for the info

Are you sure you declined it. Because when I asked the office on Friday they told me that no one had declined their spot yet
