Kaiser Los Angeles New Grad Training Telemetry

U.S.A. California

Is anyone attending the group interview on July 3 at Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center? The interview is for the Telemetry unit, and I was invited yesterday. The recruiter told me it will be a group interview, and if selected, followed by a one-on-one interview. They are picking 20 new grad RN candidates for the position. The invite says the interview is 5 HOURS long! how is this possible? In past year's threads Kaiser did a group interview and one-on-one back to back on the same day and if your name wasn't selected to go on after the group, you were asked to leave. Does anyone else know about how the process works? I hope it is not as brutal as it sounds...

Yeah I've heard they're pretty intimidating. This is my first hospital interview and I've applied to probably almost 150. I live about a little over an hour from Santa Rosa. I think it's all day if you keep making it through... Which I hope I do! I'm also hoping on call is just like per diem. But who knows. I think we will all be in one room together doing various interview 'activities'. I wish I knew how to prepare better for this.

I wish I did too! :/ Best of luck to you!! Hope we make it to the end of the day ;)

You too!! See you there!

Violetsmom, I found this description of a group interview for Kaiser online. I am hoping it's behavioral questions and not clinical.... I'll be brushing up on some stuff in the next two days though.... Hopefully the email we get today will clear some things up!

We were told to spend five minutes gathering info about the person to our right, and vice verse. At the end of the time, we had to introduce the candidate to the panel. After all the introductions, a round basket was placed on the table containing strips of paper. Each strip was a numbered interview question. We were told to pick a question, read it aloud, and answer to the best of our ability. The basket was passed around the table twice. The Hr Manager would further expand on the question with certain individuals

Cool thanks! Sounds like what someone on FB told me. I would actually rather answer clinical questions cause the person I talked to said they were pretty easy lol With behavioral I tend to either blank completely or ramble :banghead:

Well I'm gonna keep trying to prepare by practicing questions and hopefully I won't sound like a babbling idiot when it comes my turn! Hahaha

Yeah, if they're easy I wouldn't mind, I would just hate to not know a drug or something... I probably ramble too! lol

Wish this email would come already!

I know!! I'm checking my spam every ten minutes lol I'll keep you updated if I get it!

Just got it. Didn't help at all!

LOL! Not at all. Someone on FB said a recruiter told her it was going to be a bunch of activities testing our critical thinking skills. ***** hahaha. I'm gonna try and PM you something someone sent me :)

No go for me.... ?

Hello, I was invited to attend a Kaiser interview in LA next week. The position is for the New Grad Training Program, but similar to a position mentioned in a previous post, it is also listed as Per Diem. I am wondering if you guys have any insight into how a New Grad per diem job works. I cannot afford to live in LA working less than full-time, so I would appreciate any information you have on how many hours you received, etc. Thank you so much!
