Hey I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the new LVN to BSN program at Holy Names Univeristy. I think they just started it last year and I am applying this fall.

Thanks!!

Thanks for your response! I'm sure you will do very well with your interview. Thanks for your advice I really appreciate it. I have been trying to decide whether to apply here or at Unitek college, but not sure what to do?

Good luck next monday. :)

I'll keep you posted on what kind of stuff they ask I'm the interview. Still super nervous but I'm hoping it's just general interview questions.

Between HNU and Unitek I would totally do HNU if you can. That way you get your BSN. I've also heard quite a few horror stories about Unitek and know a gal that went there and would never do her RN there. I recommend going to an informational session at HNU. I found it very informative.

Thanks for all you replies!

Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Thank you so much for your advice! I had heard some bad stories as well, but weren't sure if just rumors! I think I will take your advice and go to an informational session at HNU. I will definetely keep my fingers crossed for you! I wish you all the best.

Keep me posted if you can on how it goes!

Take care

Thanks! Please do let me know how it goes. Good Luck!!

I agree with Jrich3, I would choose HNU over Unitek. At HNU, you'll receive a BSN as well as a public health certificate, the prerequisites are included in the program, but it costs $575/unit. With Unitek, you'll only have your ADN, have to take the prerequisites before enrolling and it costs about $40,000. and if you plan on working at a hospital like Kaiser, they only hire BSN grads.

Emejoy1006....sooo sorry completly forgot to post info. It went well I believe. Won't know anything until the later part of this week so keeping my fingers crossed. Interview was general questions...why HMU, how will you succeed, where will the program lead you etc. nothing too intense so I'm sure you will do great tomorrow. Good luck!

Well Friday is here. Do you know if we are hearing either way...good or bad news?? Have you gotten a phone call from them yet?? Of you could update me I'd really appreciate it. I'm so antsy to hear already haha. Thanks!

Hi jrich3

I'm not sure if they will be both calling for good and bad news...but YES! I got accepted for the spring term...Did u receive a call yet? Let me know! Hopefully we start together!

Unfortunately I have not received a call so I'm assuming I did not get admitted. :(. I'll keep you posted but good luck with everything. Maybe they will push me to summer admit haha...

Hello ladies, I am looking into Holy Names LVN to RN program as well, I registered for the information class on Jan 26. My only concern is that I attended a private school for LVN and not sure if my credits will transfer. Has anyone ran into this problem and do you know what the options are? Thank you and good luck everyone :)

I applied for the Spring Semester at HNU, but didn't get my license in time. I am taking my licensing exam next month, so fingers crossed I passed and can move forward with HNU. In the meantime I have been taking a bunch of pre-reqs at my local JC.

JelenaM: Your credits from your LVN program (depending on where you went) are not transferable. So if you went to a Private for profit school like Unitek, Carrington, NPC or others like that they are not transferable. If you have credits from a JC then those may be transferable.

Good luck to those still in the admissions process and maybe we will run into each other in the summer semester!

Thank you, and good luck. :)
