Help with the Ca BRN re:disciplinary actions

U.S.A. California

Published

i join the group so that hopefully someone out there can help me. 10 years as an LVN i had a disciplinary action and was fine $2000. I wasn't able to fight my action because I didn't give the board my change of address and they sent my paper work to the old address and my time to fight the action had lapsed. I was told to pay the fine and that's that. The fine was failing to provide safety because there was a death involved. I was a license staff working and I got hit with a fine. Nothing ever happen to me at work because the patient was under the care of someone else at the time when he eloped our facility resulting in the death. The BVNPT never suspend or put my license in any probation. They never eveen told me to take any classes. Just to pay the fine.

Fast forward 10 years I just finised an RN bridge program and I applied to the board. Because of the disciplinary action they forwarded my file to the Enforcement Unit.

My questions are

How many letters of recommendation do I need?

If i can't get in contact from anyone from 10 years ago who else can I write a letter for me?

How long does the review take?

When will I be able to take the test?

If anyone out there has had this experience please post a reply...

Thanks
