Golden West College - alternate list for Fall 2010

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site so bare with me. Ok so I am on the alternate list at GWC for Fall 2010 regular RN program. I took the Teas test last month in April, but still remained on the alternate list per the proctor. The letter they gave me after I took the teas said I "moved up on the list...I'm considered a student ready to enroll for classes...but no spaces available" so I'm still waiting patiently. This year is the school's first time doing the yearly admin application so I'm not sure if anything changed regarding alternates. I heard that so many alternates get accepted but I don't know if I will or not. The lady said there's no spot open at this time but I might have a chance still in June...? Er? They've finished testing people for the teas last month so all the alternates that did get accepted has max them out on the spaces that became available. Most of the people I talked to that were alternates and took the teas all got accepted except me. I guess I'm at the bottom of the barrel. I did better on my teas than a lot of the people that got accepted...so I don't think my teas score matter. Is there anybody in the same boat as I am who took the teas and is still waiting as an alternate? I'm  I wanna be a happy :nurse: lol

i dont know where you are located...but El Camino Compton has an open registration. definately worked the look if you still havent gotten in after two semester.

Ok I'll definitely look into their program. I live in Huntington Beach and I'll apply to LBCC also since they just started accepting application for Spring 2011. I got denied at Saddleback already since I don't have straight A's. Thanks for the info.

yeah lbcc wants 4.0s too.

tell me how it goes... im in compton, el camino

I'll keep you posted. Pray for me =)

Hey twodimension,

I GOT ACCEPTED for the Fall 2010 program at GWC!!!! I'm super excited...they called me up and said they had a spot for me since they added 2 more seats...so it's going to be a class of 64 instead of 62. Now I have to get all my paperwork done in 4 weeks! Eeeeks. I'ma do my best to make sure everything goes smoothly to keep my spot. Wish me luck on meeting the deadline. Another obstacle to overcome. No wonder the Nursing profession is so much respected! Glad to continue to become part of it.

congrats. now to get your shots and blood drawn. good luck with the program

Thank you!!! That's all done. My paperwork is completed.

Hey MilaniSid- I am going to be in the Fall 2010 class too! I was on the website the other day to double check the time and place for orientation on the 29th, but they have changed the flier for the Spring 2011 class already. Do you know what time and where on campus the orientation is? I emailed the nursing office, but have not heard back yet. Thanks for the help and I cant wait to get started!!
