Anyone else applied for fall 16 at Fresno State? It is the school that makes the most sense for me since I have family in the area I can stay with. I also wouldn't be too many hours away from where I live now so I can go home semi-regularly. Plus it helps that I grew up there so I know the area well. I am really really hoping I get in but I am so incredibly anxious and worried I won't :( Does anyone know if they use +/- in the gpa calculations? I know some schools like csueb don't. Fresno State's site doesn't really seem to give much info! Do they really not take into account your TEAS score at all either? They only cared if you passed? I had a pretty good score so I was hoping that would give me a better chance too. It seems like I've learned from reading other posts that we won't be notified about admissions for months and months? I was hoping that since the app is done through nursingcas that it wouldn't take as long as some other schools but that doesn't seem to be the case. I'd love to hear from anyone else that applied too! :)

Hi there! I also applied to Fresno States Nursing for this Fall, it's nice to see a thread started. From what I've seen and read, I agree that it looks as if Fresno mostly looks at the GPA and doesn't put much stock into a student's teas score. Unlike you, I'm not from Fresno or ever lived there, but if I got accepted I wouldn't mind moving down there. I also applied to Chico State, and I'm really anxious to hear back from either school. What GPA are you applying with? I'm sitting with a 3.84

Hi! :) Darn that bums me out a bit about the TEAS score. I need anything I can get to bump my score up a bit :/ I'm right on the cusp of not really being competitive enough. My prereq gpa is only 3.71 which is why I was hoping they didn't calculate the +/- kinda like east bay because then id have a 3.76 at least. But i don't think that's the case. But anyways! You have a great gpa you definitely have a good shot of getting in I think! I just wish we didn't have to wait forever to find out the decision!

I also applied for fall at Fresno State. They do not take into account +/- in GPA and focus predominately on the 8 core classes. Other than those, you just need to maintain a 3.0 You have a pretty good GPA, so even if you don't get in right away you should at least be on the waitlist. Then people with higher GPA's will typically choose schools like Sac State or CSUSF so you might have a chance.

I have a 3.79 and am crossing my fingers and waiting in anticipation until decisions go out.

Ahhh really?! That makes me so happy! At least my GPA will be a bit more competitive then! Thanks for the info :) your GPA is great, good luck I hope we all get in! Do you live in the area already? I've considered if I don't get in signing up for fall semester so that I would be apply to apply to the spring cohort. I hear it's easier to get in since only current students can apply. But I'm not sold on moving back sooner than I really need to haha.

I also applied to Fresno State's nursing program for Fall 2016. I emailed the Health and Human services center and they told me they will send acceptance/denials by the end of April to our fresno state emails. I've been so nervous all month, please let me know when anyone gets their acceptance/denials!!! Hope this helps :)

Anyone else going crazy checking their email 24/7?! I feel like I am going to lose my mind waiting for this email now that I know it should be coming this week! Eeeeek!

I am going insane too! I finally limited myself to only looking twice a day; Once in the morning and once in the evening. Fresno State's program is my number one choice for nursing programs so I'm really hoping and praying I get in. I hear from everyone it is highly competitive.. -_-

Yea!! The wait is unbearable. I went into the office yesterday to ask when they would send out emails and they said May 12th at the latest. Hopefully they stick to what they told Merysalarayne though and we get them this week!
