Everest College Ontario RN program

U.S.A. California

Hello all,

I know there are already a couple of posts for this school, but reading through the threads I didn't get all the information that I was looking for and considering that they are pretty old threads I made a new one because I didn't think anyone would look at those anymore. I've already completed all my prereqs at a community college, but I don't want to wait around forever to get into the community college rn program.

Anyways, I wanted to find out for those who are already in the program or have the info. What kind of studying should I do for their entrance exam? What kind of stuff comes in the tests. I also would like to know the cost or estimated cost of the school. And how do they go about choosing the students for the program? What exactly is the application process?

I've already called the school, but the lady that answered the phone wasn't able to give me much info except for that info sessions are in August and the program starts up again in January.

And if you are already in the program, I would like to know how to do you find the teachers to be?? Would you say that this is a good academic choice??

Please help me as I live really far away from this school and I am moving out there just for the program. It is a little difficult for me to just drive over to visit the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

No phone call over here. Waiting anxiously as well. Let's hope this week brings some good news to all of us.

Hello all!

After days of phone tag, I was able to set up my FA meeting on Wed, the 22nd. I've got my cosigners locked and loaded, but l'm losing sleep over the idea of not getting in! Question, though...I don't think I'll have my SAR in time for the meeting. What do you think this means for me? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. :D

Congrats and good luck to everybody! Keep the updates coming!

Kimoleka...i actually plan on moving out to ontario if accepted, any apartments u can recommend to narrow down my search?? oh and thanks for all the tips for the interview...im so excited to get it over with tomorrow!!

I'm an awful person for not realizing you replied! Boooo to me! Still interested or have you done some research? Just how close do you want to get to the school? Let me know =) and again, so sorry...

Can't wait for future study sessions, future classmates! I volunteer my house! :)

kimoleka, if you mean the online SAR, I got mine the next day altho that may be cuz my IRS stuff is all electronic? At least, we know the school is open thru tomorrow. I would think the campus would close on Friday and maybe as early as Thursday. Anyone know if they are open next week?

Thank you BookNurse, I should be getting mine any moment then =) They gave me this Thursday and next week as an option for the FA appointment, so they're definitely open next week :) Everyone should be getting calls soon! They said they'd call whether you're pre-selected or not...

... They gave me this Thursday and next week as an option for the FA appointment, so they're definitely open next week :) ...

Thank you, kimoleka! I'll now return to staring at my phone :D

Thank you, kimoleka! I'll now return to staring at my phone :D

Hahaha...you're welcome and I'm sorry :D

Kimoleka I filed my fafsa the night before my fa appt and everything was fine n went thru in time. I didn't bring my sar they printed it out for me. But I brought my confirmation page and it was good enough. Congrats kimoleka!! Once f.a. is done its smooth sailing from there

Specializes in none yet.

Finally had my interview!!!! Essay was a breeze, especially after weeks and weeks of practice I pretty much memorized all of it. :) The Interview questions were pretty interesting but Im confident with my responses. The only down part is the amount of time per day for clinicals (especialy since I have three little ones and we have only one car. Well, we'll see how it goes. There is always a plan B.

no worries kimoleka:) yes ive done some research but some input would be appreciated since ur familiar with the area and all...i wanna be as close as can be!! haha...ive been liking the archstone terracina apartments, heard of them? oh and congrats on your call...im still staring at my phone like a zombie! i emailed rachel and she responded saying that they are interviewing into next week and will be making final deliberations around new years!! ughh...i was hoping id find out before christmas, but who knows...it was probably an email she sends out to everyone:/

... responded saying that they are interviewing into next week and will be making final deliberations around new years!!...

Thanks, Jewels. That means we're not out of the running yet. :)

Hi Jewels...I know exactly where those apartments are, I just wish i could tell you something about them :uhoh21: (try www.apartmentratings.com). It's definitely close to the school, but even more exciting...super close to ME! If that doesn't help you make your decision, I don't know what will. Ha! There's a Ralph's, Fresh & Easy and some really good food places right up the street--walking distance even. It's in a part of Ontario known as the New Model Colony, the southern section that's projected to be SoCal's new place to live (http://www.compassblueprint.org/tools/ontario), but you probably won't notice unless you stay here for several years. The smell of the dairy farms won't let you forget it's still a work in progress :p It's not constant, in all fairness. If that's a deal breaker, you may want to look more west. There's also Rancho Cucamonga immediately to the north, a city that started with the cows and is now pretty upscale. There's an apartment complex called Ironwood at Empire Lakes on 4th and Milliken...very nice. You cross the street and you're in Ontario. My brother lived there for a short while. It's just surrounded by retail and restaurants...not to mention the outlet stores @ Ontario Mills and about 10 mins from school.

There's a new complex right off the 60 at Grove http://www.thegroveontario.com --it looks really nice, but again (sorry), I know nothing about them. They finished building just this year, maybe late last year. I watched it build ground-up as I drove by it on the freeway, so I can't imagine it'd be awful. There's also food and shopping nearby.

I hope this helps =) Definitely ask any and all questions...I'd be happy to answer them.

This F.A. meeting has me freaking out...oh the things I would've done differently in the past... :crying2:
