CSULB Fall 2012 BSN - page 53
Hi! I think the CSULB School of nursing recently post new pool statistics including those who were chosen for Fall 2011. Knowing that the rating average is 8.91/10, that seems like a huge... Read More
I read that people can drop out/alternates be called up to the first week of school.
I think they give a week maybe. I wish it was shorter lol
I guess the person who is supposed to be sending all the letters out was on vacay is back tomorrow...so probably we hear next week or by the end of the week
0Apr 18, '12 by PeaceLoveHapp3nessThey sure are taking their sweet time with this! haha... Well, at the interview, the proctor did say that it would take 3 to 6 weeks, and its already been 4, so maybe in a week or so we will hear from them, which sounds dreadful.
@Clueless: Regarding my friend who told me that emails were out, I go to CSU East Bay, so idk whether he meant our school or other schools, but either way, I didn't hear from any schools so I guess that the wait is still on.
UGH.... the wait is killing me!! I get so annoyed when I get emails that has NOTHING to do with nursing. And lately ive been getting so many, so overtime I think thats "its the one" when its some ad or something.
0Apr 18, '12 by lucyc661st week of school?!
talk about a short notice!
But only a week to decide? that also seems a bit short, it doesn't really give you a chance to wait on decisions from other schools.
0Apr 18, '12 by CluelessNursingGuyAre there really people who drop out a week before the semester starts? Talk about last minute and a waste of a spot!
that is what the brochure says. maybe for people who dont get their pre nursing checklist done in time or maybe they are positive for something or maybe they have a family issue going on. it happens. alternates can get called up to the last day of the first week of school. talk about no time to get everything! i hope that since i know I am an alternate, that a lot of people choose to go somewhere else
I am glad they only give a week (maybe, i am not sure, i am sure beachsidenic knows)
people who are waiting for acceptances somewhere else can always 'accept CSULBs' decision and once their top choice accepts them somewhere else, they drop out of CSULB.
0Apr 18, '12 by zowmI just called to see when we would find out. She said she is meeting with the director in an hour. We will be notified by Mon.
1Wow...seriously. we are already ranked. Ahhh whateversThanks for taking one for the team and calling
0Apr 18, '12 by zowmI know I thought it would have been faster. No problem. I was just getting nervous because at my interview they said we would know by April 14th.
1Apr 18, '12 by BeachsideNicWe had 15 days to let them know if we are accepting the offer...I think that is more than enough, because if you are still waiting on other schools that are higher choices, you can always back out and one of the alternates will be glad to take your spot.
0Apr 19, '12 by jtran13, BSN, RNTo all of those who are planning on applying for the Spring 2013..
0Apr 19, '12 by CluelessNursingGuy@jtran13- Why can't I find that page? Where is it?
Please let that be false, because I'm ready to go off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These budget cuts!!!!!!!!
0Apr 19, '12 by jtran13, BSN, RNUnfortunately, it seems to be true.
California State University, Long Beach
0Apr 19, '12 by CluelessNursingGuyWow, there goes my back-up.
Now I really have to get in this fall.
But my friends... and all the other people who were counting on Spring 2013...
I'm shocked. I still hope this isn't true.
Can the budget be that bad that they have to cut off the nursing program completely?
