Hey Reggie624 and Scwolf, I got the same email. I was wondering what the heck it meant, and I think it's just a "get you excited for the nursing program" letter, not an acceptance letter. So stupid, they should just send only the important information. Here's the letter in its entirety:

Dear Mary:

As Chair of the Department of Nursing & Health Sciences, I want to congratulate you on your admission to CSU, East Bay for Fall 2013! I want to let you know that at CSU, East Bay, we are a major university, but still offer a personalized educational experience, with professors, staff and advisors that are readily available and really get to know our students.

I am so pleased you chose pre-nursing and are interested in our Nursing Program! We have a strong pre-nursing program that is excellent preparation for future nursing courses, including a highly personalized learning environment that balances rigorous, exciting academics and hands-on lab experiences in the sciences. Admission to the Nursing program is a separate and distinct application process. As a student admitted to the Nursing program, myriad resources would be available including faculty advisors who are highly approachable and provide compassionate guidance as you transition into a challenging career. Our instructors work hard to provide a diversity of clinical and other enriching learning experiences, which successfully prepare our nursing students for future employment.

We also invite all admitted students and their families to attend our annual Welcome Day event on Saturday, April 13, 2013, held on the Hayward Campus. We hope that you will join us to discover the beauty of our campus and to explore the vast array of academic programs and student services that are available. Reserve your space at www.csueastbay.edu/welcome.

Lastly, the Office of Admission asked me to remind you to refer to your New Student Checklist included in your admitted student packet for a list of required items new students must complete. One of those items is to indicate your Intent to Register in MyCSUEB (http://my.csueastbay.edu), no later than May 1st for first-time freshmen, and no later than June 1st for transfers, so we can hold your place in the entering class. So, please do this as soon as possible if you are planning on attending CSUEB! To check your admission status or documents received, please log into your MyCSUEB account.

Good luck, and we look forward to having you in class soon.

Congratulations again!

Sincerely,

********

Oops, I guess the waiting continues. Sorry to get everyone's anxiety level up. We all received this email?

I also received the same email above. I'm pretty sure we receive our acceptance to the School of Nursing by mail.

Ah, it sounds like they are trying to address the fact that we need to do our "intent to register" at the same time, or even BEFORE, they have told us if we're in the program. They also probably want to keep folks excited about the program as we (possibly) receive acceptances from other programs sooner. Thanks, Themary89, for the clarification.

For some reason, I didn't get that email. Hm. I wonder if I should be worried. Maybe I'll check into it.

I also got the same e-mail. I guess they just want to keep us on the edge of our seats :nailbiting:

Scwolf, did you try checking your CSU EB e-mail? It might be there.

kaleinani93,

I did check my CSU inbox. Hm. I emailed them but haven't heard back. I hate to bother them. They must be inundated right now!

Sonoma State sent out notifications last week. Not a peep from other CSUs, I guess.

Does anyone know if we get extra time beyond May 1st to make our final decision where to attend, in the case that you are accepted to more than one school? It doesn't make sense that all the schools get back to us in late April and require an intent to enroll May 1st.

I've applied to Sacramento State, SFSU, and CSU East Bay.

Perhaps the school of nursing has a later deadline than the university intent to enroll deadline?

I currently attend CSUEB as a pre-nursing student and I talked to someone from the Nursing Department. Lara told me that they received over 917 applications this year and we will not know until late May. CSUEB might be one of the last to notify us of our admission. I hope this helps!
