College of the Canyons Fall 2013 (COC)

U.S.A. California

Just wondering who else out there is waiting to hear about their status about Fall 2013 at COC?

I'm excited, but trying to find other things to become interested in because I'm not sure if I will be accepted. When I went to college twenty years ago, I never wanted to be a nurse, and my GPA reflects that!

But here I am. Good luck to everyone else!

IM IN! IM IN! IM IN!!!!!!! Check your E-mail!!!

Congratulations! I'm so happy you got your first choice! :D

Im an alternate hopefully i get in and see you guys in fall! crossing my fingers!

Specializes in Cardiac/ surgical.

Good luck to you. See you at the orentation... just started another thread (for thoes accepted) check it out.

Good luck to everyone. I hopefully will be applying for next fall. I was curious if anyone know what the lowest TEAS score was that they accepted for last term?

What are the general pre req stats of the students admitted to the program?

I scoured these boards for the last 6 months trying to piece together information to see what kind of chance I had of making it into the program...so I'll post my stats in case it helps anyone else doing the same.

Overall GPA: 3.93

Core Pre-req GPA: 4.0

TEASV Score: 78%

(No repeat or withdrawal of classes)

(No healthcare field experience)

Took the TEAS on April 2nd and received notification of acceptance on April 16th (one of the things I was trying so hard to determine was the time frame between taking the TEAS and notification).

I have no idea if I was accepted on merit/rank or random selection. Hope this helps! Congrats everyone and best of luck to future applicants!

A 62% composite score is the lowest to be eligible for the selection process. I've no idea applicants individual test scores.

I wonder why I wasn't notified that there was a response to this thread? Weird!?

I am an alternate, and I consider myself lucky! My overall GPA is rather low, however, my science and pre-req GPA is over 3.0. I was told that because of my GPA issue, I was going to need a TEAS score over 80 to have a chance. I got a 82.7, so I was just barely hanging on.

I'm an EMT and have worked in the health field for 10 years as an educator.

Now I just hold my breath and wait.

I was an alternate for the program and got in the afternoon after orientation!!:) hopefully this will give everyone some hope my scores and grades were average.

My overall GPA is a 2.93

My pre req GPA is 3.0

My TEAS was a 78%

I had 230+ hours volunteer experience

It was my first time ever applying to COC and I got it! It is possible:)
