Hello Everyone!

I received the email that I was approved to submit my application for Fall 2014. Has anyone else on here applied to COC? I was advised we won't hear about TEAS until mid to late March...Good luck to all of us!!

They will send out an email with a date for you to take the TEAs unless you take it elsewhere them you just have to send the results to them

Glad they notify via email. Snail mail is brutal. Have you applied to other programs or just COC?

Have you taken your TEAs yet? Have you heard from COC at all?

I agree snail mail is so slow!!!

Hi! I took the TEAS Monday. Last i heard from COC was in Feb. I submitted my application and was advised we would be notified mid to late March for TEAS. I have not received anything yet. It will be by email.

BTW, what do you know about the Chancellor's formula? I want to know where to find the formula so I can calculate my number. GCC has a spreadsheet on their website. With the GCC formula, you enter your cumulative GPA, then your GPA for Science, and GPA for English. Then, you enter the number of repeats for science and it gives you your score. I was looking at COC website a while ago and I couldn't find such valuable information. The only information I could find was a checklist showing how they do the multi-criteria screening. Which by the way, is ridiculous. Do you know whats on there?????? "Low income", "Need to work", first generation college student". That is crazy to me! So basically, if I have a 4.0, make decent money and won't need to work while in the program and my parents went to college, I will receive fewer points. Nice. And then its a lottery after that. I wish all schools would accept based solely on GPA and TEAS. It seems more fair.

Congrats on taking the TEAs, how did you do? You know what I was trying to figure out their criteria too it's wacky, most of their points come from doing well on the teas it looks like. If your low income or first generation to attend college ect you only get like one point. I passed the teas just didn't do as well on it as I would have liked too! If you click on the selection criteria there is a link on that page that breaks down the points but it won't give you your exact points which would be nice. Most schools won't even tell you how many points you have which is so stupid! COC excepts the largest amount of students compared to other schools I have heard so that's a plus!

Yes, I reviewed the criteria list. I did okay on TEAS. Didn't score as high as I wanted to either, but thats okay! I passed and honestly, when I hit "submit" on the computer when I was done, I felt miserable about it! I didn't take any breaks and when I was done with each section, I just moved on to the next. I didn't wait for the time to run out. I finished the test in 2 hours. I may have actually finished it much earlier because my test started at 9 (then there is the on screen orientation) and then walked out at 11:15 (after the "check out" process). So it was probably more like 1.5 hours.

Did you already receive an email from COC about the TEAS?

Nope, haven't received any emails from them yet. I'm guessing you haven't either?
