City of Hope New Grad 2013 App

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi,

Has anyone applied to City of Hopes New Grad program for the February 2013 cohort? The application is due today, and I can't seem to find the app online. Anyone care to direct me to the right place?

I'm going to assume that almost everyone there turned in an application to each manager. I don't think we will hear anything until next week; but hopefully we all get good responses!

I received a call today about interviewing with ICU! Has anyone else heard back?

Good luck to all!

Congratulations! When is your interview?

Congrats!!!! Where did you go to school & when did you graduate if you don't mind me asking.

Thank you! I actually was just kinda asked a preference of units. I previously interviewed with med surg after the new grad breakfast. They gave me the opportunity that day since I am from Northern California. I graduated in Dec 2012. The recruiter said they are still scheduling interviews, crossing my fingers for everyone!

I heard official offers have been made. Congrats to those that made it! :)

Is anyone that has been offered a position relocating to the SoCal area for City of Hope? I'm not from the area. . .

for people that have been interviewed, are there any insight you can provide about the interview such as the type of questions they asked.

Got the rejection email on Friday evening.

Quite bummed, but moving onto the next. Dont know what they are looking for, maybe it's been a while since I have graduated so maybe that's why my application got trashed? Kinda discouraged.

If those of you were selected and got hired can share (and ask) what they are looking for in their applicants: do they pick the more recent graduates? gpa? do the applicants have to have NO experience (just incase I land a nursing home job but still looking for a hospital job in the meantime)? that would be awwweeesome. :)

Good luck to you all!

When did you graduate? And did you get an automated rejection or from a nurse recruiter?

Got an automatic rejection email. Graduated 2011. Lets say "life" happened and took time off.

Got interviewed in person twice, the first round with recruiter and the breakfast.

Didnt make it to the third.

The breakfast was like a job fair to be quite honest (you have 30 seconds to market yourself and you're in a LONG line)... I felt like a number and your resume gets piled in with the others unless you have some kind of connection/network.

I was hopeful, but didnt make it. Good luck to those who did! Please let us know what we can do to make it. Felt so close. But it's something that the managers are looking for.

Onto the next wave!

What have you even doing since graduation? They look at that.
