CEUs for RNs in SoCal

U.S.A. California

Hi I was just wondering where I could go to get CEUs while I'm applying and waiting for jobs.

Classes like PALS or ACLS give you lots of hours. I got 16 hrs from each of those two classes. I got an addition hour from attending a Society of Pediatric Nurses meeting because they had a guest lecturer before the meeting started. Job Fairs also have CEU credits available (usually for free, I think).

Thank you Hurleygrly I'll check out the job fairs. I've been thinking about doing PALS since I already have ACLS.

No prob :) I'm in the same boat... Still without a job. Unfortunately I took boards just before my birthday this year making my license valid for only 14 months since the first time around its valid for 2 birthdays + 1 month. I better have a job before that happens. I took PALS before I took ACLS and was told by ppl who had already done ACLS that PALS was harder, but for me it was actually easier. I was way more stressed out for ACLS. Good luck :)

Most people just get their CEUs through online courses from online providers. But you might want to check out the Staff Education link on hospital websites for upcoming classes open to the public. If there is no link, call the hospital or go in person to their Staff Education department to find out what is available.
