CC--->CSUF possible?

U.S.A. California

I read that they are nearly impossible to transfer into for their BSN from a community college. For those nurses who were able to do it, how was your gpa? I'm just now starting my prereqs but would love to transfer to CSUF as it's local to me.

I'm not overly familiar with Fresno, per se, but most CSUs accept transfers from CCs. I know at Sonoma, you get extra points for being local, and it's the same whether you're native to SSU, or you're transferring from a nearby community college.

Hopefully some CSUF students will have more specific-to-Fresno info for you!

Sorry, should have specified cal state Fullerton- thank you though!

I haven't started the program but I read from saddleback college nursing site that they have a partnership with csuf and some students can work towards their bsn while doing the adn at saddleback

Yes, it is possible. I did my prereqs at East Los Angeles City College, and did the RN program at Los Angeles Southwest College. I applied to Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State San Bernardino, and Cal State Fullerton. I got into all three Cal State RN to BSN programs. My overall GPA including nursing school is about a 3.2

I graduated from a community college in the IE and got into CSUF with no problem. My GPA through nursing school was 4.0, but I had a 3-something for all courses on my transcript which included two failing grades from my teenage years, a B in algebra and a C in both A&P 1 and 2. Community Colleges in California usually have articulation agreements with the CSU & UC systems. This includes guaranteed admission as a transfer. In other words, they have to accpt you as far as I know.
