Anyone from a different state moving to CA for private nursing school?

U.S.A. California

Hi guys! I'm not quite sure if my thread is in the right area, but any help would be really, really appreciated!

So, I'm currently living in Seattle, WA and I'm thinking about moving to CA (particularly around SF) to attend a private nursing college. The reason why is because I know it will take me a long time to get into a LVN/LPN program and I really don't want to wait any longer. (there aren't any private nursing colleges in wa) My ultimate goal though, is to obtain my LVN and then possibly come back to WA and somehow get into an LVN-RN bridge program? Does anyone know if that is possible? If it isn't, I don't mind staying in CA to continue forward with an LVN-RN program if it's possible...

The colleges I'm thinking about right now are Kaplan in Sacramento, NCP in either of their locations, and Gurnick in Concord. Are their credits transferable to other schools? Do you guys think these are good schools?

Any help would be greatly appreciated... this is a big step for me as I've never lived anywhere on my own and I'm scared that nothing will work out for me in the end. :crying2:

Thank you!! :redbeathe

I don't really know about any of those schools and I would issue a general caution about incurring the cost associated with a private LVN program. If, however, you believe that that's the right direction for you, I'd also encourage you to look at Institute of Technology in Redding, CA. I'm familiar with the program and it's pretty good.

Hi! I am currently looking into the VN program at Institute of Tech in Redding and am looking for some first hand experience with the school. Did you go there? I met with an admissions councilor last week and am scheduled to take my entrance exam friday and I love the place!! It seems like they have so much to offer! and although its pricey, they are bending over backwards to help me get funded for as much of the program as possible. Seems worth it to me, but sometimes an insiders view can change the perspective a bit, so please share

Did either of you go to the IOT in Redding? I'm pondering applying but I'm not sure if I could get enough financial aid. It's either that or wait three more years for the local ADN program. Please spam me with your experience at IOT.

Thanks
