Question On Nursing and Nursing Schools

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello I am interested in switching careers from Informational Technology to an RN.

]What Schools would any one recommend ?

I have an Associates Degree that is 15 years old and I know most of my credits would transfer to RN Degree. What would be the best route to take, Private School or go to Community College?

Are there still jobs out there for Starting Nurses, I am a male and over 40 if that makes any kind of difference on how hard it would be to find a job.

Thank You

Hopefully you will get a lot of helpful responses. :)

Good luck!

I believe science courses need to be less than ten years old, so you likely have some pre-reqs to complete, but they are largely the same no matter which program you end up in. What part of the state are you in? The state schools are going to be cheaper than private. The community colleges in Phoenix and Tucson have nursing programs, as do NAU and UA. NAU also has a program that coordinates with Phoenix community colleges, and they have a satellite campus in Tucson. There are two men over 40 in my program, so you likely won't be alone! Good luck!
