I hope it wasn't asked already but if it was could someone point me to the thread?Anyway - when you work 36 hours a week do you get paid for 36 or are you paid for 40? I have heard conflicting stories about pay and was just curious what the deal was.
Thanks!
The only thing I have heard of relating to that is called...."double weekends".....where you work Sat/Sun 16 hours each day and you get paid for 40 hours of work. Im not in the nursing field but I have friends that are. This might be what you are referring to....

A Saturday and Sunday shift ? I didn't know that was an option for nurses. It sounds like a perfect shift - 4 days off couldn't be better.
Where I work in Chicago, a lot of the hospitals have adopted the weekend program. You work 12 hours every Sat and Sun and get paid 36. Someone else works 2 8's during the week and 2 12's every weekend for a total of 80 hrs every 2 weeks and she is paid for 96 hrs. Not bad if you have kids and your spouse watches them on the weekend. I prefer every other weekend myself.
