MCC RN to ASU BSN

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello:

Can someone please help me regarding the prerequisites for the ASU BSN program from the MCC RN program?

I am currently on the waiting list for the MCC RN program. All of my prerequisites are finished. After my RN, I would like to continue on and get my BSN at ASU.

On the ASU BSN webpage, the following classes are listed as prerequisites:

Human Development

Clinical Healthcare Ethics

Healthare Organizations

Culture and Health

Human Pathophysiology

Nutrition

Principles of Sound Reasoning

Through MCC, I can find Human Development, Human Pathophysiology and Nutrition, but not the others.

Do I need to take all the aforementioned classes to be able to "get in" the ASU BSN program, once I have gotten my RN? Or do I need the three (Human Development, Human Pathophysiology and Nutrition) that are offered at MCC? I do not know what I need.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Human Development, Pathopysiology and Nutrition are integrated into the nursing program, so if you go to a MCCCD program, you will not need those. Also, the other classes you listed I notice are part of the ASU BSN program, not the RN to BSN program.

I am putting a link to the checkoff sheet for the RN to BSN bridge program for MCCCD to ASU.

Basically, all you need above and beyond what you needed to get into the MCCCD program is MAT142, Stats, 10 upper division elective credit hours and make sure you have a "global", "historical", and "cultural" class. For these categories, I just called a nursing advisor at ASU and had her look at my transcripts and tell me if I needed anything.

Thank you so much for the information and the link. The link had a lot of very useful information and answered all my questions.

After I read the link, I looked at some other posts. Some people said that although Human Development, Nutrition and Human Pathophysiology had been incorporated into the MCC RN program, you would still need to take these classes for the ASU RN to BSN program. Does anyone know if this is true?

Thank you - I appreciate it.

Specializes in Rape case examiner, including chickens..

You will probably have to transfer your credits so they can see what you have taken and what you can take while awaiting the program.

Good Luck to you!

Camille
