Hi guys and gals,

I just peeked into the State Board of Nursing paper that arrived a couple of weeks ago and noticed that Apollo College now has a nursing program that is Board approved. I don't know ANYTHING about it; I just noticed there is a program and it is approved. Maybe there is less waiting there?

It figures Apollo college would get on board eventually. Unfortunately, these programs tend to be expensive and don't transfer to ASU for BSN purposes. For someone that really wants to graduate ASAP but has no plans on furthering their education, this may be the way. Just my opinion. I've yet to call Pima back...apparently they've started a nursing school as well. I'll post what I find out from them.

I spoke with Pima this summer and they do have a nursing program. The unfortunate part is it's about $30,000 and they only accept about five of the pre-req's you've already finished (if you're on the waiting list as I am). They make you take all the other ones over (and of course, pay for them) and they don't accept transcripts older than five years. Yes, this is a great program for someone who is just starting their pre-req's, has a lot of cash, and doesn't want to further their education.

Personally, I decided to just wait for an opening at the CC's, hopefully I'll be a NS by January

I would not choose Apollo unless you really don't care about getting your Bachelors degree ( I would even be weary about taking it as is we don't know how the hospitals will veiw a "certificate' from them unlike MCC OR ASU) I was going to take their X-ray tech program about 3 years ago until i found out that nothing transfers. I would stick to the University or the comm colleges. :typing
