current market for working agency

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Aloha all, I am from Arizona but have been a RN in Hawaii for a few years (case management ) .

I know..who would want to leave Hawaii..that's a different topic. I'm just posting here to see the current market for working agency. Waaay back when I graduated in 1999 I worked as an LPN and had plenty of work in LTC. Now as an RN my experience with agency is limited .

Understanding each state licensing is different:

Does Arizona allow a RN to work in a LPN role (for the sake of agency)

Which are the reputable companies? I don't need to work any more than 30 hrs a week, maybe less.

Ideally I'd like to sign on with an agency again, work the school year and take a hiatus each summer to travel.

I used to work for Maxim.

mahalo,

Just from my internet job search (I'm in Indiana waiting to move to AZ), it looks like there's a large need for agency. Are you wanting to stay in case management?

Aloha Monti, case management has its perks but I'd like to get on the floor again. I used to do long term care and hospice but always maintained employment with a couple of agencies..back in those days work for LPN'S was easy to come by because I was willing to do LTC. Now as an RN my only recent experience is case management. Ideally I'd like to work agency again (preferably psych) so that I could have a flexible schedule and check out a few different facilities. My original goal working agency was to work the 'school year' months and take summers to travel around.

RN's can work as LPN's, but do not give up the liability of having "higher" education (http://www.azbn.gov/documents/advisory_opinion/AO Dual Profession & Dual Health Care Licensure_Certification.pdf)

I had good experiences with Integrated. While I never worked for them, Health Temp nurses always seemed on par and to be everywhere.

thank you all, I am in the process of endorsing my license and have already spoken to a few interested agencies, many alohas

I'm going with IHS per diem until I find the right hospital job. I've been in the AZ area for 2 weeks now, feeling uneasy that I don't have a job yet :)
