Boswell Sun City RN Program?

U.S.A. Arizona

I was wondering if anyone is currently in that program? I'm new to Arizona so I'm not familiar with all schools here. I was wondering if anyone could explain this program to me? Do you attend classes at the actual hospital? Is there a waiting list? Do you have to have all your prerequisites done? Any information you could give me would be much appreciated.

Hi, I just graduated from nursing school. From one of the Maricopa Community Colleges. I went to Mesa-Boswell for my first two semesters...and transferred. It is one of the Maricopa Community Colleges. You can find out all info about pre-reqs on maricopa.edu. Pre-reqs are the same for all the schools. When youare completing your final prereqs you can submit your application and choose your top three schools. That is how you are accepted. I just put down three schools that were in my general area. I didn't care as long as I could get in. I don't know what the wait is now but they over-estimated and I got in very soon. I applied in March, during that application processing time and in July got an email saying I would be starting in August! I was told I would not get in until January so I was pleasantly surprised.

At this particular "campus" you are in a small building across the street from one of the two hospitals that are in the Sun Health organization. They are the "sponsors" of the program out there (it is pretty far west in the phoenix valley). It is not a college campus or setting.

I will say without too many details that I transferred out because I didn't like this school. All programs will have problems, don't get me wrong, but I just was not happy here to say the least. Their big push is that because they are small and personal their students are more successful. Well that can also be a problem. They are too small and too personal and there was very little help for struggling students. I also didn't like the encouragement to be a SunHealth employee. It could have been a lot worse but after I transferred I got to go to a lot more hospitals and felt like I got more experience. It just worked for me. I was happier after I switched and succeeded becoming a much better student.

Good luck as you start school. You can message me if you have any other questions.
