Best AZ hospital

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi! I will be relocating to AZ as soon as I get a job this year. I'm not in any rush and want to apply to the best hospitals. Looking to live in the Mesa area. I have been an RN since 2005 and have worked in hospice, oncology, and telemetry. I really enjoy my telemetry floor though as it isn't so heavy as working hospice. Anyway, I am wondering if you would be able to provide any information on which are the good hospitals to work for? I have my BSN, and would like to go back for my masters eventually. Like I said I'm in no hurry, so looking and applying for jobs I can take my time and really determine which hospital would work for me.

Looks like most of the jobs in AZ are 12 hour shifts too, that is a switch for me but I could see that being nice too having an extra day off during the week/weekend.

Thank you in advance for your posts~ :yeah:

Oh, are there better areas in live in Mesa/better schools etc??

If you are asking if there are better areas to live in then Mesa, in my opinion I would have to say yes. Tempe, Scottsdale, Chandler and North Phoenix are all nice.

As for the hospitals Mayo and Banner are good. From what I've heard John C. Lincoln is good, and I don't know about Abrazo.

Hi freezebabyRN, I am a CNA and a monitor tech on a tele floor at Banner Gateway. This hospital is only two years old and it is state of the art. It is a smaller facility (about 160 or 170 beds) that is on the boarder of Mesa and Gilbert. On the campus They are building a cancer center with M.D. Anderson that is supposed to open I think in a year. Banner is the largest hospital chain in Az w/ locations through out the western U.S.

I don't know if it is the best hospital, but I enjoy working here. There are defiantly larger facilities in the area.

The facility is in a nice part of town. Mesa has its some bad parts the eastern part of the city is nice. As azcna said Chandler and North Phx are nice. Scottsdale is nice but it is big $$$ to live there. Gilbert and Ahwatukee are nice too.

Here is a link to the web to Banner Gateway

Thanks for your information! I just emailed Banner and will see what they say. I don't want to apply until I talk to them since I found another hospital that will not consider out of state nurses due to the cost of relocation.
