I accepted a new grad job there in the MICU yesterday. :coollook: You can't beat those government benies - 26 days of vacation! The pay is a couple of bucks lower than I could have got but I love those benefits. They also orientate for SIX MONTHS! I start on 1/9

Don't forget to increase your TSP (retirement) to the 15% max. If you do it now, you won't miss the money. You also need to look into the "boarding" process and the 9 dimensions for advancement. Find an "oldtimer" to help you with this confusing process. Some nurses don't get boarded for years but it is possible after just a few months. (boarding means more money!) Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips. The recruiter mentioned something about boarding that I didn't quite understand completely, but she said I could do it right away. I will find an old timer

It is something they do to set your pay rate from what I can figure out. How do you like the VA? PM me if you don't want the world to see!
