A broke RN need some information on pay.

Hi:

Thinking to buy a house, but I know I have to have a pay increase before I can afford one. Which hospitals in Phoenix area pay the best? or have a lots of overtime for RNs? I need a change. My kids need a nice place to live. Thanks! John

If you're looking for a nice area to live, the Gilbert area has great schools and a real family atmosphere (lots of parks, things to do for kids, great rec centers). There are two brand new hospitals out here, one is a Banner and the other is CHW. Both pay pretty similar, but since they're pretty new they may not offer a lot of overtime. If you're looking for overtime I'd try the CHW hospital first (Mercy Gilbert). It's been open a lot longer and I'm pretty sure they're giving overtime. Night dif. is going up to 20% at Banner, and is around 18% at Mercy Gilbert. I'm pretty sure Mercy Gilbert also offers a 10% weekend dif rate as well (at least St. Joes does and it's the same company). Housing is really going down in price right now, it's a complete buyers market. You can buy brand new or resale for a reasonable price. We've got a brand new mall that just opened this week, a new freeway, anything you could need/want.

we did. we still have a ton of overtime. double time for on call and if you "flex" they pay you 35%diff but you are guarenteed the hours. Most Rns on my floor work atleast 4 a week, one shift being overtime. If you can get on the weekend program, ,i know some of those RNs are making quite a NICE paycheck...almost double what I make!

Those are smaller CHW hospitals. St. Joes is a CHW hospital in downtown Phx (the biggest hospital in AZ) ..... very busy hospital. Check that out if you want overtime pay.

Same with County (Maricopa Medical Center) and Good Sam ..... huge hospitals all in Phx that are busy busy and always in need of people.

St joes in phx. we are part of chw. its about to be the busy season as well with all the snow birds returning.
