Jeff State 2015 Hopefuls

U.S.A. Alabama

I plan on applying in May of 2015 for the Fall. I'm so nervous already. I am currently attending Lawson. I have two previous business degrees, so I don't have to start completely over. Right now, I just need to take my Anatomies to apply. I'm so nervous. Anyone else applying in May of 2015?

Hello everyone. I am to apply for the lawson that nursing progrm. Hopefully for the summer semester 2015. I live in ga so it is quite competitive down here and I too have straight A's. I didn't do as well on the teas test. I got a 64. Can anyone tell me more about their requirements and the adverse people that accept. I calculated my points and have 197. Is that good or bad? I just want to know. Thanks

I haven't heard anything about the summer semester. Can someone pleases tell me more about their acceptances rate and point scale.

I actually don't know anything about their summer acceptance. I wish you luck. And that sounds like some points to me.

Thanks though @ feeneishia

I actually met with a new advisor today and decided to apply at Jeff State instead of UAB and do the mobility program later. I'll be applying for Fall 2015 and I'm taking the TEAS for the firs time on Wednesday. I took an online practice test today and did pretty well and I'm making As and Bs so hopefully I'll get in. Good luck to you all! :)

Good luck kwooten. I plan on doing the same thing. I am applying to the night and weekend program.

Hello Kwooten14. I will also be applying for the Fall semester. Which campus will you be applying for? I am applying for the Jefferson campus. Good luck on the Teas. I took it back last month and did not do as well as I would have liked, but I am hoping it will be enough. I will be applying with 200 pts. Looking at previous posts from previous years the minimum to get in is around 185, so I am hoping this will be enough. I am also applying to Shelton which is my number one pick and also Lawson. I called and talked to the advisor the other day from Jeff State to see when the application was going to be available and she said it should be by the end of this month. She said that they were revising the application so that is why it is taking so long to get it on the website. Again good luck on the Teas and let us know how you did.

Hi aingram1169! I'm applying for the full time/day program at the Shelby Campus since it is closest to my house. I still have to get final grades for this semester as well as take a few courses this summer but I tried to calculate if I get an A in math (I have a 99% now) and an A and 2 Bs in my sciences, along w/ my practice TEAS test score I'll have around a 193. Now I just have to bust my butt and try to make all As and a decent TEAS score to boost my points lol

Hello aingram1169. You will definitely get in with 200 points. I'm trying for the night/weekend, so I can only go to the Shelby campus. It's pretty far from my house and job, but I'm going to make it happen. I have 187.5 points right now. But I am going to retake my Teas to try for more points. I would feel a lot better if I was in your position of 200 points. I have A's in everything else so the Teas is the only area I can get more points. I am currently at Lawson and may apply. I am just not interested in taking any more classes like computer science, reading, etc. I have two previous degrees, and don't see why something I took couldn't take the place of these classes. But I am still going to apply and see what they say. Jeff State is my number one pick.

Hello Feeneishia. I just finished my pre-reqs at Lawson. I took a mini term the first half of Spring so I am done until I start nursing. I am going to try and rest up and enjoy all the time I can with my kids before this Fall. Are you applying anywhere else besides Jeff State? I had all A's but the science part of the Teas killed me. Even though I took all of my sciences before taking the Teas, there were only two or three questions pertaining to what I learned. I have been out of school for 20 years so I had a hard time remembering basic science problems. I studied the ATI book and took the practice tests, but found that on the real test that the questions seemed irrelevant from what I studied in the book. Good luck on your retake and let us know how you did.

If you got 200 points that test didn't kill you. I am thinking about applying to Lawson. I am limited because I work full time during the day. So there is only two options in Birmingham. I'm trying both.

Looking at previous posts I saw someone get in with 176. I'm praying that I have enough to get in at night. They said its more competitive than the day program.
