Omnibus Online-BNE

I am taking classes at Omnibus International College foundation. They are a private school in the Philippines, but have a site in Houston, TX where students can take their clinicals. I know they are not accredited in USA, but they are in the Philippines. In the Philippines they have Practical Nursing (PN), but Omnibus titles it ADN (Associates Degree Nursing) equivalent.

My question is: Is there any way I can verify if my degree from Omnibus will be honored in TX by the BNE (Board of Nurses Examiners) for licensing as a Foreign graduate student? How do I go about making sure that their program is equivalent and acceptable to the Texas licensing board when I apply as a foreign graduate and get an Registered Nursing license, NOT a Licensed Practical Nursing?

Just an update:

The Manila Headline newspaper posted the article about Omnibus and I just received the article today from the local asian grocery store.

I will try and get the article to be in the Houston Chronicle. If anyone wants to read the article right now, I can scan and email it if anyone is interested. Or, you can also email or visit www.manilaheadline.com and ask them for the article.

It's getting brighter every day! :)

2nd update: Manila Headline is sending me the official article and I will post it within an hour or two for those who want it. (It is approx 3PM central).

I wasnt send the newspaper ad, but I am able to send my scanned portion of the newspaper clippings from Manila headline.

And by the way, the newsreporter who did this article got threats from Omnibus, so I am unsure if they will post it on Manila Headline or not. He has secruity now/ police protection. But, I will still email the paper clippings for those interested.

That just goes to prove everything that we have been saying here.

If they are threatening the reporter, it is because they are going to get closed down and lose alot of money.

May they be forced into having one of their nurses care for them. That is my new wish of for the year. For everyone of these owners, may they be forced into being cared for students that trained in their programs and not be able to go to other facilities and have other nurses care for them.

Then we will see how things get cleared up there and in a hurry.

I took of my facebook. The files are below.

Here are two attachments of the Manila headline article about them.

Here is another file attachment of that fake Omnibus nursing school.

btw, Thanks goes out to kathy. She told me how to attach these files. Thanks!!! :)

Kathy sent me a complete version of the manila headline article. These are more readable.

To others here that are reading:

Never assume that anything and everything is legal about a program just because the school tells you that it is. Here is definitive proof of what a program tried and actually got caught doing.

Hopefully, they will face criminal charges in the Philippines. Fraud comes to mind for one thing and hopefully this wonderful sole will be required to return every single peso that he has taken in for programs that do not legally exist; as well as be required to donate an equal amount to children's charities there, as well as jail time.

We can only hope for that. But the best part for me is that they can now be Googled all over the world and this will follow them for the rest of their life. Which also means problems getting out of the Philippines as well as he will not be wanted to enter anyplace else.

Rene Gaviola, the CEO of OLRA/ Omnibus, is actually in Houston, TX. I heard he lives in a rich neighborhood worth at least $1million, not pesos. He has been here for a while in the United States.

I heard that he had a dentist office a few years back and was investigated as well about taking care of patients in Galveston in the wee hours of the morning- 2am and what not, that was why he was investigated previously and now is scamming people through nursing education.

He is a major scam artists, not only in the Philippines, but in Texas.

When this hits the news here, he is going to be history. More than likely the government officials will go after him in both countries.

A one million dollar home down there is not out of the ordinary, he had probably been doing things under the table or illegal for sometime. But with the Philippine government after him, the US will not be far behind for scams like this. They just are not tolerated.

And hopefully, he never got citizenship here so then he could be deported back to the Philippines. And if they do a check to see where his money came from, then it can be confisgated as well if things are not on the up and up.

Highly suspect that they are not. He deserves all that is going to be thrown at him. And do hope that he had an enjoyable holiday season, worried when the rug is going to slip out from under him.

I found out today that the Texas workforce commission dismissed the case against OLRA. I found out afterwards that Omnibus and OLRA are two different entities. So the representer of my case told me that they are still working on the case against Omnibus. I just got angry though because Omnibus and OLRA are the same thing!!! It is just a way of going around the law b/c I have been paying my tuition to OLRA, but my education is from Omnibus. This thing is a big headache. I just want it over with and have that office closed.

Just to let you all know, my mom said she got my tuition reinbursed from the credit card co.... so at least I got some of it back.

I am glad your mother got some money back, you did a big public service posting here.

Have a good holiday.
