congratulations to those who was granted 457 visas. and good luck to those still doing/applying for BP.

just some piece of advice:

you can actually apply for permanent residence visa subclass 189 or 190 without breaching the contract you made with an employer. I didn't know about this and didn't know I'm qualified for 190 visa last November! I should have applied then.

Hello. I am planning to apply for a permanent resident visa this year.. I think they call it Independent Skilled Migrant? Not so sure. Anyway, my dependants just got approved for 457 visa today. :)

hi guys! just want to ask if there's anybody here who lodged their 457 visa in the Philippines? I lodged mine last 7 June and I haven't received any updates yet. Does anybody know how long is the processing time for a 457 visa lodged off shore? Thanks! :)

Oh.. Okay. At first I thought all 457 visas are valid for 4 years. I just read some articles that 457 visa validity can be from 3 months to 4 years, and is determined for how long the employer needs the employee. Guess I'm lucky enough to be granted with visa until 2017.

Sponsorship and nomination is done by the employer. I'm not too familiar bur according to what is stated in the website, Sponsorship means when the employer / business applies to become a sponsor so that they will be eligible to hire overseas workers. Nomination is when the employer nominates a candidate for a certain position. These processes should be completed first before the candidate can apply for the visa. The employer pays for the sponsorship and nomination while candidate pays and lodges the visa.

thankx annie for answering my queries.. i hope and wish that we could get the regstration as fast as yours so soon we'll hunt for jobs as well.. God bless to us all..

Yes. :) my visa was granted first since I submitted ALL the required docs. After few days, my dependants got their approval too, like 24 hrs after their medical results were uploaded in the system. I listed my husband and son as my secondary applicants. :)
