they hire nurses for canada..

will be happy to hear your feedbacks and opinion.. good or bad..

many thanks:w00t:

You have signed a contract with a US employer, and if you sign another one to go to Canada now, be aware that you may have to pay very stiff cancellation fees depending on the contract that you signed for the US. The contract for Canada is also for two years, so if you leave that one early, they also have cancellation clause as well.

And the US employer has every right to cancel out your petition if they think that you will not be available for them.

Also be aware that working in Canada and not in the role of the RN does not give you work experience in that role and may not look to wonderful to US Embassy officials when it is time for an interview if you ever get to that point.

Hello Everyone!

Johnna- You need to talk to your agency or to your employer. My friends who have been hired by the US employers but could not leave the country due to the retrogression, asked if they can work in Canada first and they were allowed to do so. Please review your contract on what options are there for you should you not be deployed given a period of time. As for the Canadian province, I only know of Saskatchewan as the only province that will make you work as a Graduate nurse without the CRNE. I have tried the other regions like BC and Ontario and they need me to pass the CRNE first. As for processing fees in Saskatchewan in my case, there is none.

arylze- APEX has forwarded my documents to the Canadian Embassy already. I have taken the medical exam. SRNA also got my application and I am now working on some deficiencies. I really do not visit this forum often as I am getting anxious about my application and I do not want to think much about the coming months. I really feel our lives are about to change. I have never worked overseas and I am just excited and nervous.

Hello, just want to ask what is their minimum requirement for work experience and how long is their processing.

Thank you.

hi there.. when did u sent your srna application? how many weeks was your processing? until your receive your GN license..

hi there OOBIE...

i started my SRNA application NOV2007... i think it will take 6 mos average to have the GN license and CRNE offer letter.

in my case,it was affected by Christmas and Easter Holiday and since they are sending mail as ordinary, you will really count days!

Specializes in medical-surgical/OB-Gyne.

SRNA processing is only 2 months unless you have a problem with either your PR verification, your previous employer or your credentials from your school.

you have to follow it up, send an email or call them at srna.

As i mentioned,I started Nov2007.My CRNE offer letter and Graduate Nurse License will come JUNE1st week as per advise of SRNA staff. It is expected to have some problems along the way.For me,2mos is too fast.Since I am here in Saudi Arabia, their mails will count average of 21 days to reach my mailbox. For those who got their result after 2mos,well,you guys are lucky! Just do your best to speed up the application.Good luck to everyone and God bless!

just an update...I got my CRNE eligibility letter last June1:yeah:...hope it will speed up my visa application!:jester:

Specializes in Oncology, Medical.

Congratulations! Please do update us how you are doing once you are there. :p

i will have my MEDICAL exam in few days time..Working Permit will follow soon...

Hi there.

I was one of those blessed to be hired as a graduate nurse in Saskatoon SK. How are you guys doin?

I guess I just wanted to have an update from those who were also hired last March. I was hoping to get some news from anyone about our visas. I'm also not sure what's happening with Apex. I fear they have internal problems. I pray it won't affect the release of our visas.

I submitted my papers to the canadian embassy for processing last April 1 and if they are strict with 11weeks of processing I should have my visa around June 17. But according to Apex, they havnt received any news from the embassy and not a single visa has been released yet. I know some have submitted their papers earlier than i did, but i guess they havent received their visas as well.

I had my medical exam last May 2 and my SRNA eligibility arrived May 5. The canadian embassy just recently requested a copy of my SRNE eligibility (picked up at Apex only last June 23).

An important information I also learned (somewhere) is that the canadian employers are looking at the first week of July as the departure date for the hired nurses. And then another in August and then October (or is it December?)

Any news anyone?
