Ms. Suzanne, Thank you for all your advises.

Aryl, I hope for the best. I hope they will place as all. Good luck! Have you gone to their office already? They have posted in their bulletin board the names of the nurses who got their Visas already. The office said that some have left this month.

Apex is an agency, and nothing more. They are in the business of placing nurses for a fee, they are not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. You are essentially getting sold to the highest bidder, forget about Agency for Pinoy Excellence.

Any agency that is in your country is in it to make money only, and for no other reason.

Please be very careful with what you sign, you are not going to be placed in the role of the RN as you will not have a license to do so, chances are that you will be placed as a nursing asst and the pay in that range. And once again, if it is not in writing, it does not exist. Does not matter what the recruiter promises to you, they cannot make any decisions for the agency and cannot sign anything for them. All contracts will be signed by management only.

Never just assume. And getting a visa to work as a nursing asst when your heating costs are going to be close to that will not leave you much money to support yourself, let alone send money home for your family.

I have nothing against the agency. When I was interviewed by the agency last week, they did not promise us anything. They are clear from the start that they have employers coming next month from the Health Regions. I am just excited that an employer is coming next month and I am waiting if I will be included in the final interview. For the Filipino nurses who are in Canada and were hired as Graduate Nurses by the Saskatchewan Health Region through this agency they are earning CAD 23/ hour. I also confirmed this from the POEA. If they pass the CRNE, their pay will likewise increase. I like to give them a chance. I have read in another forum that in Alberta their offer is CAD 14/hour, I think that may not even cover their heating bills. So if I get hired, I will take the offer. I just like to prove to the employer that they did not make a mistake in coming here and hiring Filipino nurses.

The Health Region delegation will fly to Manila sometime next week, they will recruit at least 300 nurses to fill-up various position in different regions...Saskatoon Health Region are one of them.. so far my experience with SHR are very good... Definitely not a mistake to hire Filipino nurses...

Goodluck to all applicants!

Oobie, just call Mary Jane of APEX again. My friends got messages (text and email) last Saturday. I am not really sure of what region. Sorry, I am not that familiar with Canada (yet :) but the good thing is the offer includes us working as General Nurses (not practical nurses or vocational nurses or nurse assistants). I sent my application in November but my friends sent theirs last January.

At first, I got depressed when it took so long for the agency to respond. I was not included in the November interview and the ones who were hired then are just waiting for their visas now.

I think the Canadian Health Regions will be coming back next month that is why they agency has been calling nurses who have IELTS. After we get hired, we need to register with their region and when we get to the hospital we prepare and take the CRNE. I think nurses who would want to work in Canada or in the US should try applying because if we get hired we are already there in less than a year.

hi! where can I find apex agency,is it in manila? what is their contact number?

many thanks

I think I know you. Were you the one who flew in from Saudi to attend the interview? :) Congratulations!

Hopefully for me I will be in the Regina Health Region by June. Woohoo!

Congratulations to the others who were hired. The interviewers were impressed by us who came that day.
