Good day! I am a nurse from the Philippines and now planning to take NCLEX and be a registered nurse in Illinois. You see, I already passed the CGFNS as well as the IELTS. I was wondering if I need to request CGFNS a Credential Evaluation Service since I already passed the exam. And, I also would like to know if I have to take also the TOEFL since as I mentioned earlier I already passed another english exam which is the IELTS.

hope for replies soon! thanks a lot

is that so praeclarus? im bit confused here..pls enlighten me in this issue thanks

Better call CTS if cgfns certificate will do coz my friend just took nclex for IL this month and she never had CES.

Hi everyone! :roll

This is what I know that I'm sure of. CES is indeed different from the CGFNS certification program certificate that I am referring to. CES only evaluates your credentials. CGFNS certification program on the other hand, includes evaluation of one's credentials, the CG exam and the English Proficiency Exam.

IL BON currently is requiring that one applies for the CES in order for them to process your application. BUT they are also accepting CGFNS certification program certificates. (That's what they said when I emailed them) So, if you have one, then you don't need to apply for the CES.

The CGFNS certificaton program, i think, is a new service, because you only indicated that you have the CGFNS exam certificate and the IELTS. My aunt, whom I'm currently living with right now, didn't have the CGFNS certification program certificate also. She had at the time, a CGFNS exam certificate, IELTS and VisaSCreen. Anyway, she didn't apply for the CES, yet they accepted her application, and she's currently working in Illinois.

400 bucks is a huge amount. You can already apply for the VisaScreen with that amount.

If you really want to know for sure, you can always email them. That's the one Kathykaye posted above. They usually reply within 48 hours.

Good Luck! God Bless!!

7. Part VII--Graduates of Illinois Nursing Education Programs must indicate

school code in item "c." (See Reference Sheet, Chart IV.) All other

applicants indicate "See ED-NUR" in the space provided for school code;

a and b - leave it blank

c - write "see ED-NUR" as instructed

d - write the number of times youve taken the nclex exam

hope it helps! goodluck!

thanks for the reply!!

Hi dcraneses!

You only need to pay $79 to CTS for the application. $200 will be the fee when you register for the NCLEX. :specs:

I hope that clears the confusion. Don't go wasting your $200. LOL ;)

thanks for the reply. So I will be sending the 4 page application together with my CGFNS certificate and the bankdraft of $79? is that it?PRC already sent my CT NUR and my fingerprint card is to follow. When will I be paying $200? what status of the application will it be? And how will they notify me if there are any problems regarding my application? Thank you so much for the advance reply!God bless us all.

after paying the $79 and sending the required documents that CTS needed, just wait for their letter informing you that you are eligible to take the nclex. That's the time you have to pay the $200 to pearsonvue(the testing center).

thank you for the reply. How will i be notified if there are still documents needed which i havent yet send? How will I know my status of application?usually how many months will I expect to receive the eligibility? thanks
